Why is PR in less members forum higher than PR in busy forum?

    Hi guys,

I have one question. As title says, I do not understand why. My understanding is PR in busy forum must be higher than the less one.

    Is there any idea?

Well it depends -- If the forum with less users has a good amount of quality backlinks, and it has a good Pagerank it shares less PR juice to the users, making it stronger internal PR. I don't know if you get what I'm saying, but.. The less userbase, the better for PR -- Pagerank spreads more and has a bigger effect on smaller forums.

back links are the link of website in other website or directory & so forth, for example if i palced the link of this forum http://forums.digitalpoint.com in by blog, website or directory or anyother web with the anchor text "internet marketing forum" this would also be called backlink. the links of my blog & directory at my signature is also called backlink, i hope you understand wht i say.

Backlink is a link to the site. The more links to the forum the better. It gives Page rank to the forum. The more members and pages in forum the more the Pr is given out so each page is rated less.

    Thank you guys.

How can I know how many backlinks I got? Is it known through the result of searching from Yahoo or Google?

High traffic forum usually tends to have massive backlinks. Thus users of that forum who leaves messages with a live sig or text link will benefit from the link juice of that forum.

However please also note that SE like Google has its own "book" of highly regarded sites. These sites get crawled by Google bots perhaps on a daily basis.

Hence if the high traffic forum happens to be in that highly regarded list, chances are all links from that site tends to get indexed or reflected faster that others - like perhaps lower traffic forums.

PR wouldn't matter too much to forum owners unless they are selling links. The power, and feel of the community is more important, as well as the revenue :p

Not really about members, it is about traffic and backlinks!

PR of many very well-known forums decreased after the last october PR export... It was a warning by Google for all other forum owners also.. Hard to compare anything right now IMO.

Simple because newbies keep joining the busy forums and the sheer number of users is so high that you don't get to see high PR websites on everybody's profile :)

This forum should have 7 or maybe even 8 out of 10 but it has been manually adjusted by Google, so that we don't get PR off our sigs.
