I see on CNN last night that the Saudis are trying to explain/justify why they crap on women... The article did not make much sense because it really did not address the topic fully. From what I understand, women are less than human in the Arab world. I see that is changing in some places, hopefully it will there as well.
hehe, there are inventors everywhere. I don't know why there is so much argument in it. I just did a little bit of history and found that british and americans both had part in the inventions of air conditioning as well as primarily americans inventing electricity. It is SICK, it is DEPLORABLE, and regardless of the religion or law in that part of the world, it is a place where the UN should actually stick its nose with respect to human rights violations... It always amazes me how far we have come in the US in just over 230 years. It apparently takes longer in the Middle East..

While the western world has given more useful stuffs in the last 200-300 years, thus outshining Arabs. Notably, Science was so rich in Arab region in pre-Islamic time and early Islamic time, but gradually lost its shine as Islam progressed.
The Islamic law the allows rape victims to be punished is basically stating that Muslim men are pigs. Ironic that Islam teaches that Jews are the offspring of pigs. I don't find it surprising that in the US women can wear whatever they want without fear of being raped. What makes American men respectful of women while Muslim men are not expected to be? How well does a woman have to know a Muslim man before she can consider him not a stranger and show him her face?

For what? Any law which punishes the rape victims is intended to protect the alledged pig nature of men which prevents them from having self control when they are around a woman. It says that men can't be held solely responsible for their actions. What does that say about Islamic society when they blame women when men can't control themselves? Camera's were invented by someone of France. Einstein is known for his contribution to mechanic's, that would be German and later on American, but there are several things here that could be considered mechanical. I don't know of anyone of Arab decent that contributed anything major to the mechanical field. Numbers, I think they've been around since pangea, so i don't know for sure who invented numbers. medicine... I can give you this. I've seen several doctors that I can barely understand that are considered specialists. I think most are probably American trained though and a lot of the funding for science going into studies for medicine comes from America. I'm sure europe and asian countries give a fair share as well. I don't know that a Middle east country is too concerned with medicine considering we've got doctors going there to give immunizations and general healthcare to the poor. Chemistry would probably be under this same field.
Actually, the word "Camera" comes from the Arabic word "Kamra" which means "Dark room". The Camera was invented by a muslim Astronomer/Physicist/Mathematician IBN ALHAYTHAM. Europeans have taken a lot of inventions by Muslim scientists and called them their own. the camera is one of many. No, they did not invent the word.. Swahili's did. The origin however is from safar in Arabic.. But do keep in mind that while most of the Muslim world speaks Arabic and considers it their language, it is not a Muslim invention either. In fact Arab Christians, Mizrahi Jews also speak Arabic.
