Blogger is good if you want a presence and you can't be bothered with hosting. Although I do feel know I wish I started with wordpress since you can do a lot more. But blogger is free.
There are quite a few other good blogging platforms out there. MovableType, PMachine, Greymatter, B2Evolution, TextPattern and Expression Engine to name a few, but WordPress with its now famous 5 minute installation and ease of use, Combined with the excellent documentation, countless plugins themes ect must make it IMO leader of the pack..
the best, the easiest, and the most powerful blogging software i think. it has all support by technorati, text-links-ads, etc. imho
No choice to me but WP ... simply the best (it's the choice of plugins and easy adaptability due to the PHP/MYSQL backend that make it for me)
I'm about to start a blog as well. Are we talking Wordpress.com or .org? Also, does WP allow Galleries or do I have to use an external source? I know nothing about programming, will I be able to set it up easily?
Inky, The best way to get a good online presence is to get inexpensive paid hosting for your domain and install WordPress on your own server space.
I love it because it's so flexible that it can be used for blogging or as almost any other type site possible. I look back when I used to use only HTML for a 60 page site and can't believe I hadn't discovered WP sooner.
