    Hello All,

I launched a new forum the other day. I am getting a good amount of visitors from stumbleupon and a couple of other sites. However no one is registering or posting. How can I kick start my forum? besides articles and press releases

    http://www.cheaptravelforums.com

    thanks

    Three ideas:

    1. Share revenue with the posters.

    2. Start an affiliate program and give $1 per new member. Condition being: the new member has to make 5 posts.

    3. Populate your forum with this script:
    http://www.icomotion.com/ico-content/
Its not free - but its worth it.

It is good to have StumbleUpon users visiting. If you want to make people register and start discussions, you will need to "build" up a discussion. I won't dare to stay in a town with no people. Makes sense right?

Try setting up a few accounts yourself and start posting and discussing among yourself. Raise the number of replies and threads. When people StumbleUpon and see discussions are going on, they will read and if they want to say something about it, they will register.
