This story is doing the rounds across the whole seo industry, marked as 'Hilarious' ...
One question and I haven't read the whole thread so excuse me if someone else has asked this .. but if you have all of this special knowledge - why do you need to release a book - wouldn't you be able to make megabucks from seo for clients ? I'm no genius but I am making around £3.5k a month from seo.

You say that the seo gurus are not telling anyone the real secrets - so why dont you tell us and prove everybody wrong or do you want to prove that you are one of the big guys by not telling something that you are pretending to know !!!

monfis, i'm glad you found it entertaining, because i wanted it to be so :)

    wokanka, don't push it.

look, i never said i had special knowledge. ppl keep misunderstanding this.

all i said was that the real critical knowledge was being denied to the newcomers to the industry. if you're a professional, i'm not doubting your abilities. you may be in on the "secrets"

all i wanted to do was to help the newcomers, because i realized there were severe barriers to entry.

If you want to help others than I cant see how you are doing it ?? If you want to help then just share what you have. I dont see how you are helping with only talking about knowing something that will bring the www to an end.

Anyone found this thread useful ??

fisker, this is the real dilemma..if i reveal secrets, that means loss of business for myself and other SEO friends! and if i don't it means lack of helping others out.

    techblog, hardly!

i've gained many supporters, and have even decided to go ahead with the book! the release date for the review edition is 30 December as many of you already know.

But what none of you know, is that i will be launching an all new website to review SEO services around the world. This will ALSO include book reviews of existing SEO books and guides. None will escape the eye of this great new monitor of the SEO industry.

please be patient. i will be revealing the URLs of the book website, as well as of the Industry monitor.

So instead of destroying the industry, i've decided to save it by creating a worldwide SEO organization, that monitors all SEO service providers and books around the world. With so much snake oil out there, this was long overdue.

I'm guessing the website will be made from a freely available template and include a whole lot of affiliate links to the SEO ebooks...

    tarponkeith,

it'd be great if you'd wanna volunteer for industry reviews.

we could start by a nice review of Aaron's SEO Book.

And the sad part is, you will actually sell some books from all the hype you created here to some unfortunate newbie, and in the end it will be like all the others $9.95 books that are full of jibber jabber...

Honestly, I don't think the market needs more people that want to make money, reviewing works of others that want to make money, in an attempt to make money...

I've got a novel idea... If you want to help the new webmasters, how about you find a place where a lot of them gather to exchange ideas (sound like dp?) and drop a few tips every once in a while... if you really have all the great information you claim to have, then you'll build a following... you then start a "make money" blog like so many others have, and your loyal band of webmaster lemmings will read it daily and sometimes click your ads...

tarponkeith theres nothing novel about that idea...90 % of dp is doing it already.

Exactly, that's the purpose DP serves... An open forum for webmasters to help each other, share ideas, and scam each other...

    Please don't do option #3...

If you've got awesome SEO knowledge, why not just post it? You'll be regarded as the SEO king if you really know all this inside stuff... Then people will read your blog all the time...

How long are you going to run up your post count by posting two and two posts right after each other? If you are smart enough to make revolution in the SEO business you are smart enough to use the edit button.

I don't have "customers", I do my own work... Please do it!

You could make this like the apple vs microsoft thing years ago... When microsoft started it was seen as the liberator, allowing software developers to more easily develop and produce titles...

If you really release ground breaking tips, you'll be seen as the guy that made awesome knowledge freely available...

Please, kill the SEO industry :)

This is funny. I think we are all having a go at a 13 year old boy with NHS glasses :) lol

I am tempting you! Going on! Kill all our sites! :)

Better yet, get to the top of the search results for the term "Google" :)
