On the security side, Firefox 3.0 adds malware check, a phishing filter-like feature that warns users attempting to reach a URL blacklisted for suspected malicious code hosting; one-click site information that displays site ownership; fixes for vulnerabilities in plug-in updating; and integration with antivirus software and Windows Vista's parental control settings. Mozilla also claimed that it has fixed more than 300 individual memory leaks and added a new cycle collector to eliminate other memory issues. Firefox has a reputation for leaking memory consuming large quantities the longer it's left running, and ultimate slowing down its host computer although some of its developers have contested the claims, and even pegged the problem as one of perception. http://www.nytimes.com/idg/IDG_002570DE00740E18002573990073C1C2.html?ref=technology
That's Great But I am really afraid of Speed.. It is really slowing down my PC with every updated version
This one is suposed to be half as resource intensive, so it won't slow your computer down as much (unless you have loads of add-ons)
Sometimes one should take a step back and think a bit. Would you ever install a beta software on your machine that had many bugs? Unless you are a developer, the answer should be NO. Now, forgetting those already yelling the praises of this new Firebox beta, I ask the rest of you to read Mozilla won't fix 80% of Firefox 3.0's bugs and stay away from this software until they fix it all.
