For my dynamic site : www.glemnet.co.uk , i want to rank for " cheap telephone calls" .....i used this keyword as Link building anchor text and in meta tags & content of the page...What else i can do to rank for this keyword..Plzzz Suggest
It is good to have the keyword phrase in - title tag <title>cheap telephone calls</title> - heading tag <h1>cheap telephone calls</h> and in smaller heading tags h2-6 - anchor text in internal links Meta tag keywords are worthless (SES ignore them), Meta tag description may help. Links from some article on some site will probably become more and more important, since Google tends to ignore sitewide links and footer links and links from paid directories. You may want to try adding your site in Yahoo directory though (try for free - contact an editor of appropriate category).
To be honest, the keyword meta tag has no importance anymore, although a well structured description meta tag can help both rankings and clickthroughs. It's best not to over-optimise a site though, so just ensure that the term is in your title, H1 and content.
It would be good enough to use your site dominant keyword in h1 tag also make SEO friendly url for your site using htaccess.
also use random anchor text instead of using one target keyword when doing link building so it comes natural to the eye of SE.
if you are do blog, you may include "cheap telephone calls" in your content so that the spider will be able to crawl it, but of course allow a link from your blog to your site so that the spider will detect it...
Boron is right. Keywords on title tag, header and anchor can really help to rank your targeted keywords.
