I have a domain that i will without any doubt be developing, i purchased it after making some good plans for it, at the moment it isn't parked and i want to ask if it can do any harm in anyway to park a domain until ive got the time to put my plans into action for it?

Don't list it for sale, some times buyers make an offer and do not bother to pay, you cannot develop it also

Hi, I would park it until the time you are ready. I would also add it to google sitemap so that whenever you are ready to go, it will already be in the search engines. Submit it to msn and yahoo as well. It will save you time. I agree with the guy above, don't put it for sale otherwise google will capture those keywords.

    Good luck with it.

don't park it... parking will earn you few money and it doesn't worth spending time with something like that. just make a cool start page "Under construction" and that will be ok

I agree with Nosfer; put up a cool "coming soon" page; way cooler then parked pages...

I was under the impression that he didn't want to do any work until the lauch that's why I suggested to park it. If you can take the time to make a nice coming soon page with an actually date on it would definitely be way better. I though the conversation was about if it's bad or not to park. It's not.

I'm earning nice money with domain parking. Don't know if you've tried it, but domain parking works REALLY well sometimes--sometimes better than developed sites [DEPENDING ON YOUR GOAL!]

I was planning on writing a HUGE domain parking how-to on my blog (http://www.fka200.com --I've got an affiliate link to ParkingPanel on there... the RPC is just WOW on there with some domains. Registrants have a higher chance of getting into ParkingPanel through an affiliate link--win win situation!--but there's more to just setting nameservers on a domain in parking if you want maximum money)... there's some things that can be done with domain parking that can greatly increase revenue. If you plan on developing the domain in a week lets just say, go ahead and put an under construction page. It won't hurt. If you are waiting, PARK IT! Why not? Anyways, I'm getting a little off topic. If you're interested in the domain parking tips, let me know. I was planning on writing it when traffic to my blog picked up a little bit more to help more people, but I guess I can do it. It might take me 2-3 days to cover a lot of the tips.

I would suggest parking but it is better to make a small page or mini site until you develop but this can take time so parking can be more convenient. The idea is just to get it online and most parked pages will get indexed within weeks so as soon as you get your developed site up then Google will pick up the pages in a short time. The suggestion about a sitemap is also good advice.
