Creep, ROFLMAO! So....isn't it ironic...those people claim(ed) that a CAT ".. had previously taken courses at a community college, worked at a fast-food restaurant, babysat, and maintained a newspaper route." and then SUE because they got a degree based on their lies That frickin' cat sure didn't deserve a degree in the first place...and (ok..serious now)....why didnt the school file a lawsuit against the one applying for the degree based on that nonsense ?
One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of people are clueless when it comes to their own profession, even though they got a real degree. That's why telling apart people with real degrees and fake degrees is so hard. Just look at those questions that HR asks you when you apply for a job. Most of them are nothing but fluff that has nothing to do with your future job position.
You guys will believe anything. The numbers just don't add up, I don't believe for 1 second the thread starters statistics are anywhere near honest or accurate.
Hmmm. So basically, the guys "exposing" this were falsifying a Life History claiming the cat was an actual person to obtain a college degree by deception? How did the college know that these guys were lying on the application forms? I wonder if the judge would have been so forgiving if people had applied for credit in an animals name by falsifying documents? If I was a judge, I would have fined them for wasting the college's time and using a false identity.
A creditor would have verified the info before issuing credit. Read the story again....the cat belonged to the district attorney who prosecuted them criminally. The judge was happy to fine the college and sieze their assets. Oh, and I wouldn't call it a "college", more like a diploma printing company, lol.
instead of bashing you guys should be happy to have an interesting product to promote. I actually do think the debate whether this is ethical, semi-ethical or whatever is totally out of place here - i also see many people arguing kind of " i worked my butt off....and there's a degree for $180 in the mail" <--- and thus acting angry. The fact that someone worked his butt off for a degree does certainly legitimate emotional anger - but this does not mean that the product in question here automatically is "illegal" . Its also up to any purchaser to get a degree or not - and what to do with the degree, maybe just use it for fun or whatever or buy the GF for christmas From a marketing point of view this is an interesting product with good commission rates - and all the debate whether its "ok" to get one of those degrees is kind of out of place here <---- IMHO
That is a lot of posts in a very short period-- looks like you joined Oct 07. Do you have another account with DP? Q...
Used to work at a print shop, and about once a week a preacher or pastor or whatever would walk in the door and ask if we could print them a new college degree because they had lost theirs. SURE was our answer! Just give us the college name, what the degree was for, etc., be happy to do it. It only costs $50, and it's ideal for those for those people who are self-employed (like preachers) who want to have a degree hanging behind their head when someone comes to visit. Makes you look more professional, intelligent, or something like that I guess. Whatever, it's more of a niche kinda product. I doubt you could go for a job interview and produce it out of a folder to prove that you finished your degree.
What you are describing, is basically creating FAKE degrees. There is a huge difference between degrees obtained via Legal Loopholes and fake degrees. There is a sort of "vanity" element to these loophole/life experience degrees like you said, but we know plenty of people, family and friends who have used these degrees to get a job. Most employers prefer experience over lack of it. These degrees just help people get their "foot in the door". All's fair in Love and Job Hunting
