Hi, Just wondering is it detrimental to your page rank and serps with Google to have TLA ads on your directory?
I dont know but most folks on this forum know my thoughts on Mr G best I dont comment anymore on them but why dont they get on with their own business and leave everyone else alone
Similarly to britishguy i dont know either, so didn't vote on this one, you will unfortunately only get half answers on this one, no one else can actually give you a full laymans terms answer on this and know it to be true.
I seriously have no clue, if you take a look at it. There's several "scripts" that tend to look like textlinks, perhaps not sure if web sites that have features like "Site of the Day/Month" use nofollow, but that's another way to define a text link, maybe not for us, but certainly for the search engines. To save all confusion, we are now using BlueTac, pins or sticky tape to secure links to the pages in our site.
Ugh, don't get all twisted over google slaps. Only huge sites have gotten hit. And they've only gotten a pagerank hit! Their google ranking for keywords have stayed the same. Just don't be dumb and name the section: Paid Links or TLA Ads Just be smart, don't link to tla, just follow and you're gold.
Selling links will lead to a PR cut - like searchengineland got. You dont get your own SERPs penalised as it has nothing to do with inbound links.
