This Guy Wasted My Time...

    Alright,

I dealt with a client when I was an Internet newb and was promised $70 a month (big money for me back then) for doing a posting job + moderating on his forum. Now, I was told that I'd be paid halfway through the month as well as the remainder at the end, so posted 300~ times for him up till the 15th; I stopped then for a while as he did not pay, but he assured me that he would pay in full at the end of the month. I told him to pay me for half the job first and then I would continue, but he did not pay/blocked me on Yahoo Messenger and has not done so since.

The user is a semi-active member of Digital Point and it's not really the money I'm after as it's a miniscule amount; rather it's the principle as I easily put in around 50 hours minimum posting and moderating the forum. Now, the stupidity is that I'm still a moderator so can delete/wreak havoc; is there any way of getting the money off him, or should I be petty and do that? Thanks for your views, if of course you decide to give them :)

In my experience, if clients have money they will pay without any problems and generally they will offer to pay first.

He is obvisouly broke so is cutting you off.

His financial problems are not your problem.

Its terrible that he is disrespecting you like that.

I would be petty and wreak havoc and hit him where it hurts, his wallet.

I would also start listing credit blacklist notices on pages that get picked up by google. He will be falling over himself to pay you then.

Actually, he's not broke- I've seen him dealing on these forums and buying stuff. As I said, it's not really the money anymore- $50 to me today won't affect me loads one way or another, but I'm kind of (pretty, in fact) p!ssed off for working ages without being paid, or at least the decency of an explanation.

donot think negative i believe you should blacklist him instead of doing any havoc on his forum

Just expose him on DP so that others donot face same thing

I had same kind of problem with one person did not refund the money which he said he will pay back in month, money is not important but donot let him harm others

You can give him negative itrader

    Regards

    Alex

yup, doing forum posting invest more time than money actually. It so difficult to accept more persons like this in DP forum right now. I had been scam for blog comments,etc..

You asked moderator to hold his activity here until he paid you. :) the thread been reply by a lot of banned members, he/she will be next

I've decided not to do anything; I've found out someone hacked all his websites and scammed him out of $2000 so I'm glad I didn't. He is trying to pay back everyone, hope he gets it sorted out; I've already said he doesn't have to pay me :)

Personally i would delete all posts i made. Technically when you write something its copyright to you, so you would be within your right. Expose him as a non payer, and leave Neg iTrader.

It doesnt make up for your time, but at least he wont benefit from your work.

I personally would not be malicious towards him. Messing up his forums by taking advantage of your mod status really won't get you anywhere except to show people that you will stoop to his level. I do think you have the right to delete YOUR OWN posts though, since that is the work you are not getting paid for. But, I wouldn't wreck havoc beyond that. Be the better person and pat yourself on the back for doing so. People that do horrible things to others will get their just desserts eventually.....

Yes i agree, delete all your works but don't be malicious towards the site or other posts. As you said his site is dead anyway, someone who can't pay and cheats people won't be successful in the long run.

I suggest to just wait it out, and keep asking him about how he's doing. One day he'll turn around, and remember you, and he may repay you.
