Try adding some products or services relates to sites topic. Find affiliate programs from sites like commission junction they pay more than ads like adsense.
Yeah definetely try and sell something if you can. Ebooks can be highly profitable but try to make it related to your niche. I also agree with rcj662, adsense revenue isnt that good. It is the easiest but probably one of the least best ways to profit from a site.
