Alexa is completely useless website therefore any research based on Alexa results is equally useless.Everyone knows that, but a number of US clients still believe in it and some of display industry runs on alexa trust.
I don't see any logic why alexa is useless... though it's not accurate, still it is a good monitoring of your site traffic..
The alexa rank is not accurate at all and comes from people who view with the alexa toolbar. You could have 3 people consistently visit your site and be in the top 100,000. Does it really makes sense???
Alexa is not completely useless, if yr buy & sell yr link wid yr client that time add one benefit to yr site. And see traffic purpose as we hv monitoring of our sites that we hv got 5 or 6 visit per month to ur site from alexa directory not Alexa SERP.

It does give an accurate trend of your traffic if you have a good amount of it. So it does perform at least one task correctly.
1) this is the the wrong thread 2) Alexa whilest fundamentally flawed in its index gathering, is the best we've all got so why knock it. we all know the drawbacks, and we all know that it is possible to skew the data on there, but really, WHAT OTHER TOOL IS THERE THAT DOES THIS???? jees'louise, think of something better to pick on, and while your at it, do it in the right thread....
