Yahoo Answer is great place for marketing. ( not spamming ) But yahoo is now a days very strict. If you don't spam also. They are deleting almost all answer that have non-yaoo link. What is your experience with yahoo answer ?
It gets like 30 visitors a day at most if you spend hours there. Not worth the effort for that small amount of visitors unless you are selling something great.
I have had no success and often times Yahoo will flag your link as spam. The little traffic I did get was worse than Stumble Upon traffic. Never received a single conversion from it.
For me the traffic usually is good for adsense but not for sales/conversions. An important point here is your answer should be chosen as the best answer to be giving better traffic for longer times.
I have been surfing Yahoo Answers for quite some time now, answering questions and leaving a link here or there to one of my sites. I haven't noticed any of my links being deleted, but I try to make sure I answer the question as best I can without being spammy or looking like I just wanted to leave my link. I will have to agree though that it's traffic that really doesn't convert into anything worthwhile...
My experience with yahoo answers has been entirely positive. I only put a link when it's genuinely a valid answer to the question, I've never had it deleted, got a handful of best answers votes, and a healthy amount of useful traffic. And I think it's helping me in yahoo search generally - nothing I can put my finger on, but I am going up the search engine pages, and getting more general yahoo traffic.
I have had some good experiences with Yahoo Answers, but of course, my URLs were relevant to my answers, and I had good content on my site such as articles that I wrote out to help people, so it helped me in return, especially when 8 of my answers were chosen as the best answer.
I stick to the relevant topics. Spent maybe an hour a day, getting 5-10 best answers chosen daily. 300-500 unique hits a day from them!
It is tough to get a comment approved with an external link, but if you can do it on a high-traffic (High PR) page, it can get a powerful backlink for SEO's sake. This seems to also be the case for 43Things in my experience...
I am not sure what all the talk is about Yahoo only links. I submit non-Yahoo links all the time with no worries. Also, those that have posted that the traffic is not worth it, you must be doing something wrong. Yahoo Answers is a goldmine if done properly. My record so far is approx 30K hits in a month with 1 question alone. I still get hits coming in so many months later from that 1 answer. You have to answer the right questions at the right time and also make it good enough to be the Best Answer. If you research/think it out, you should be able to do this with no worry.
I work in a low-traffic area (handful of hits per day) and don't often link back to myself. However, just this last month Yahoo! Search traffic has picked up from almost nothing to just a bit...
I am getting some PMs as to how I got the 30K Yahoo Answers traffic - there is no secret to be honest. You just need to know a niche, find something about to happen in that niche and make sure you answer the very first few questions that come in about the upcoming event/product for that niche. In my case, I answered the first 3 WWE Wrestling questions for a particular event and got the Best answer in all 3. Only one of them however (due to the way the question was asked I guess) brought in the massive traffic and actually was on the first page for all the major SEs for a while.
Answers.yahoo.com Links in Yahoo! Answers may bring a little visitors, but they are not customers. Unless you (or I) selling a very good product, there is a least change the those visitors will buy your product. Answers links are nofollow in attribute .... that means they are not good for SEO. I've tried Answers for few days and got some visitors but the time I spent was not worth it. So no luck for me!
My experience says otherwise. After some experiments, I have managed to sell Clickbank and CJ Affiliate stuff on Yahoo Answers. The nofollow attribute means bugger all. As already mentioned I reached 1st page on all the major SEs and stayed there for a while. Traffic is what matters and Yahoo Answers allows you to get targetted traffic. It is basically your loss if you do not use it.
