Just out of curiosity sb, but what denomination are you? I won't be offended if you choose not to say.
No specific denomination, we believe the bible, and we obey the commands of Christ Its kind of strange that millions have that same delusion don't you think,
I said historical facts as in ones that have been proven in history. History has proven that the world was once covered by water. Only thing is it has not proven the story about Noah's ark Secondly lets take a look at this. If you can have a fish that has not changed for millions of years and yet all other animals have changed within that time isn't their a little dichotomy in that? Two according to evolution the world is always changing and of course the natural selection thing. How come the fundamentals of life on earth is not changing. How come only the species and not other elements are changing?
Evolution makes animals more suited to their environment. If an animal does perfectly in its environment, it won't evolve anymore, because nothing can make it more successful. Actually, I believe that in moving into cities and towns, we have effectively stopped evolution in its tracks for us, b/c we change the environment to suit us now, we don't change to suit the environment. and what do you mean by 'the other elements aren't changing' if you mean the elements on the periodic table, it's b/c they're not alive. And where is it proven that the world was once covered in water?
First that could not be the case because man has changed a lot since the past thousand years although our enviorments have changed sometimes drastically. How can we pinpoint the slightest change in the sun or any other matter but we claim it takes millions of years for us to detect a change in evolution although we can predict changes in almost all other areas. Not the period tables. I'm talking about other living substances like ameba's and other microscopic things. They do not adapt. If their environment is not right they are wiped off the map. Both evolutionists and creationists hold true to the fact that at once the world was covered in water. Evolutionists say millions of years, Creationists say 40 days and 40 nights.
- actually it was longer than that - the water took much longer to recede if you read the whole chapter - the whole passage functions as a literary chiasm - with the central theme being - God remembered Noah which is the key point of the whole chapter.
Well you can't get all over the early religious people for their estimate of 20 - 30,000 year old guess. What kind of information or technology did they have, almost none in terms of what we have today. You can't think that evolution did not happen, that is borderline ignorant. I personally am religious, but maybe you can view evolution as God's creative way of making us?
no if there is a God than He created us, we did not evolve. The "technology" used these days to prove evolution doesn't work, I've heard stuff where grandma's front porch was 30 million years old.
You can't just turn a blind eye because you don't think it happens. Evolution is happening all around us, the Vatican even recognized this, Pope John Paul II wrote something about it.
In the words of a great mind: "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." -Albert Einstein NO WHERE in the Bible does it say that evolution is impossible. We were SPIRITUALLY created in the image and likeness of God. Our physical bodies mean nothing. Look at the lives of our bodies in comparison to the lives of our souls. One lasts on average about 75 years, one lasts eternity. That being said, who says our body won't evolve to better adapt to the environment we make for ourselves? God gave us the earth...and the free will to destroy it. I believe He also gave our bodies the power to adapt.
The bible said God made man, this man was able to name the animals and other things as well. I do not believe a cell has that ability. It also says God breathed into mans nostrils, i dont believe cells have those
Well thats where your wrong, if you did not take the bible literal, you leave it open for manipulation. The bible is a message of truth from our God, and it is a holy book, that tells of creation, obedience, good, evil, atonement, and sacrifice. It is true word for word. The teachings of our savior Jesus Christ. The bible has never been proven wrong, however, there is substantial historical evidence to prove its validity and truth.
Nope, it's called indoctrination and mass hysteria. You tell someone something from the age they are born they'll believe the craziest stupid shit... you use marketing techniques like card stacking, plain folks and the bandwagon, and people will believe the craziest stupid shit. Have you even READ the old testament? Book of hate and intolerance. Much less that prior to 5,000 years ago NOBODY believed that same malarkey - and right now well over two thirds the world population does not believe in YOUR bible either. I'm so sure that 1.9 billion chinese are right with you there... RIGHT. Ok, let's take the bible literally - mankind was created twice, nobody besides Noah et al was smart enough to get on a boat when the flooding started, someone survived being swallowed by a whale, disobedient children should be stoned to death, and the earth was created in 4004BC (according to some of your stricter whackjobs, forgetting of course Egyption written history goes back to the Lower Paleolithic about 700,000 years ago) Taken literally it is little more than hate, ignorance and intolerance being sold under the mask of peace. In the beginning there was nothing, not even time. No planets, no stars, no hip-hop, no rhyme... but then there was a bang like the sound of my gat, the universe began and the shit was fat. The universe began as a singularity, nobody knows what went on then, see? For ten million trillion trillionths of a second, the state of the universe cannot be reckoned. The fundemental forces were unified - we've no theory to describe that tough I've tried. Then the forces split and the universe was born, it was hotter than a priest watching kiddie porn. Protons, nuetrons and electrons came to pass, as protons collide changing energy to mass. Three minutes go by tends to cool one billion, down from one hundred million trillion trillion. This reduced heat allows a new event, the formation of heavier elements. Still it was millions of years 'fore the first star glowed, if you're down with the bang sing along here we go. It was the big pow pizow - bang a dang biggitty boom, bigitty boom, the big bizang. It was the big pow pizow - bang a dang biggitty boom, bigitty boom, the big bizang. Hold on now, what about inflation? That's a little tricky and could use some explanation. Inflation, one could fairly state was the time when the universe expanded at a rate that was faster than the speed of light, but that oversimplifies and it ain't quite right, but for purposes here it will have to do 'cause I aint got the time to explain it to you. Rock.... Damn... It was the big pow pizow - bang a dang biggitty boom, bigitty boom, the big bizang. It was the big pow pizow - bang a dang biggitty boom, bigitty boom, the big bizang. The beginning of time and the birth of all matter, say it took seven days you're as mad as a hatter. It was millions of years 'fore the first stars glowed, if you're down with the bang sing along here we go. It was the big pow pizow - bang a dang biggitty boom, bigitty boom, the big bizang. BOOM!!!
History has proven???? LMFAO!!!!! What history has proven what?? Events are demonstrated by facts and evidence, history is a concept, it cannot prove anything, it is innate, merely a concept. You want to get belittled? I will do it, and do it profoundly, you simpleton. Let's tackle Noah's ark, first: Okay, There is fish that haven't changed in millions of years, but blah blah blah. I hope you realize that you have just admitted the world wasn't created 6000 yrs ago. But I digress. You say "If you can have a fish that has not changed for millions of years and yet all other animals have changed within that time isn't their a little dichotomy in that?" Is there a dichotomy if I change my clothes twenty times a day, and you only change yours once a month? WTF does relative rates of change have to do with f*** all? You don't even make a point. What is the basis for your 'dichotomy' question?? Hey?! I buy new tires all around, but one of them goes flat and the others are all still good. Isn't there a dichotomy in that, you f****** moron? Explain your point, or STFU. "Two according to evolution the world is always changing and of course the natural selection thing. How come the fundamentals of life on earth is not changing. How come only the species and not other elements are changing?" LMFAOx10!!! According to evolution?? What did evolution ever say? Evolution is a concept, not a person that talks. Never the less, the theory of evolution does not say anything about 'the world'. It say FA about the world changing. Have you even been in school? Do you have the slightest clue about time, fundamental physics, local systems, ELEMENTS? LMAOx100! "Species" are dynamic, life is dynamic, how can you compare that to elements? How can you change and grow and add wieght etc, but the elements don't change? Don't even get me started, you are a simple target to humiliate.
Number one if you look at my point I left Noah's ark out of it because there is much debate about it so I will not make a response to it. Natural selection says that if a species does not adapt it dies right? OK explain than.....if natural selection is the process to go by why don't we all use it to define environmental concerns. Lets just continue on the trend we are on and let natural selection take its course. Further more when I mentioned elements I was not speaking literally but figurative. I'm talking about such things as wind rain sun etc. According to evolution we change and we adapt. Its ironic though that these same evolutionists are the ones behind the global warming craze. If natural selection is the way of the world than lets continue on our course, the world will adapt....and the ones that don't well natural selection will take acre of it. Here is a nice little site that offers a couple of audio facts (less than three minutes) about different creatures that proves evolution wrong. Here is an example. http://www.creationmoments.net/radio/volume.php?v=36
