How to market an eBook website?

A lot of you will know I sell eBooks I've written on Digital Point; now, they've received mostly decent reviews and a lot of buyers; I've setup custom websites to sell them off after the splurge of interest I've had from Digital Point members. Now sales have been decent, but nothing substantial- I've sold each one anywhere between 20-60 times before interest tails off (on Digital Point) and then have sold the website off with full rights for a lump sum.

For my latest one, I'd really like to take it to the next level and reach the 100 sales benchmark minimum; any idea on how I can promote it away from DP? I've used Adwords campaigns which have brought about decent levels of success; I would like to get an affiliate program going, but can't use ClickBank as they don't allow UAE publishers.

I would not mind paying someone a cut of sales/the end sale price for their marketing help. Thanks all for reading this :)

Marketing eBooks can be a pain the rear, that's why I never did it myself. There are so many eBooks probably already availible for the subject\content you wrote about it's hard to beat them out in SERPs and sales. I suggest you keep up your current trends, sell 20-40 copies then sell off the whole site with resale rights, you'll find this to be more profitable faster.

I've had a lot of success marketing an ebook with Clickbank. I use Wordtracker to find niche keywords, SEO the site, and drive some traffic with Adwords to start things off. You want to focus on creating a really good affiliate area with lots of banners, text links, and pre-written articles. Also do some blogging yourself.

Did you even read his thread that said how he has tried Adwords and can't use ClickBank as they don't allow UAE publishers?!

Well, I'll be doing that with a few of my other ones but I really want to profit with my latest one as I've put a lot of time and energy in it (it's 26 pages) and would either like to milk every single penny out of it before I sell off the rights or give it away to all those who subscribe to a newsletter. I can't keep writing more, in fact I think that this is going to be my last one for a while; unless I get hit with a phenomenal idea, I'm not going to cover the topics that have been discussed loads in depth before.

@ winsoar, Adwords brought in seven sales by my count, while as said ClickBank does not allow UAE publishers.

Just realised I didn't have the website in the original post; it's www.ThousandDollarGuide.com :)

Do you cross-promote your ebooks? Like at the beginning, or the end of the ebooks something like "the author of bblablablablaba and blablablabla and etc" you know? With links to the salespages?

Make a different salespage just for the Ebooks and you can offer a little discount because they bought one of your Ebooks.

Probably not very useful if you're selling the websites eventually.

took a look at your salespage, nice background :D makes me all hungry for money :D
    hmm money lol

Just by looking from your website, I think it is not compelling enough for people to buy it. Better work out on the salespage first. If you have budget, hire copywriter to do that for you.

In term of marketing your ebook, I suggest you write a short ebook/report and give it away for free first. This is to help you gain your credibility. Make the free report attractive enough that people will feel stupid if they don't get it. Use optin form in your salespage to capture people emails. Once you have the list, it is much easier for you to sell the product, because you already have potential buyer, which is your list of subscribers.

The problem when selling ebook is because the website don't receive enough traffic to it. The best way to gain traffic for FREE is to submit an articles that related to your product to article directories. That will help you to gain traffic to your site.

Hope this help you a little bit.

First thing is to send a copy to some of the "gurus" asking them for a testimonial.

Once you have done that, get the thing listed in all the ebook directories.
