    Hello,

I have a tech blog that gets about 500~1000 hits/day. But my CTR is very low. I have been wondering, what type of sites gets the most click, other than adult sites.

    Can anybody throw some light?

I would say that tech blog are the one that get more clicks, if the ads are well placed. I've confirmed this myself, the only bad thing is that is a low-paying niche.

If you made your blog get 500 hits a day, you are at good way, now you just need to choose the correct advertising company and to place your ads in the right places, if you will do all that job good , you should get atleast 3-4% CTR .

CTR is dependent on a few factors not just niche.... other things to consider are ad placement and the actual ads. I have done research myself into banner/ad effectiveness and how certain banners perform better than others etc...

CTR is not as simple as niche.

    Nice blog.

Try using widgetbucks and not adsense.

    Or maybe try out chitika?

CTR is based on the attraction of each ads on your site/blog. So why do not you try a website or blog about Forex with Google Adsense. Forex is very popular nowadays, and bid for each click about Forex of Google Adsense is very hight, too !

If you already have a blog, probably you should concentrate on the ad placement and keep experimenting on the color blend. Not all sites will have good CTR even if the ads blend, some might even do well if the ads stand out.

    Placement is good.
But your 336*280 on top is very ugly.
You should have ads headline blue(as any other link color on your site).
Ads text should be black, and ads url black as well.

Now ads is so ugly so i can't even bealive 1$ clicking on it.

Do this and you will be getting atleast 5% ctr.

When you change your ads let us know how much did you improve your ctr

ps.People will be clicking on blue ads description which is not clickable. Its urgent to change it to black

I think it depends only on your content and on your visitors.

ruby is right. Ad placement and size can adversley affect your CTR. Try ads above and below blocks of txt/posts etc in rectangle this has always worked better for me than the 'sky-scraper' ads
