Which is better for SEO with Articles?

Submitting the article to ONLY the highest ranking article directory?

    or

Submitting the article to as many article directories as I can?

The main purpose would be to boost SERP for the website attached to the articles.

Presently, articles are proving to be the right mode for getting back links as well as traffic. Getting back links from a high ranked article directory really worth. So go for all those article directory that has got good rank.

What about duplicate content? Doesn't that have a negative impact when you list it on so many article websites?

I was just going to ask this same question. Do you think it would be good to submit a lesser version of my articles to directories and then put the better version with deep links on my site?

I am worried about this also.

Make a totally rephrased short version with a different title for your submissions. This way your syndicated articles can't outrank you. Don't expect too much Google juice from article submissions, though. Depending on the niche some article submissions bring in nice traffic, and that's the point of the whole procedure.

If you want to an article get indexed by search engines for particular keyword that you want at top spot of search engines, you need to submit the article to 20 top article directories which based on traffic and PR.

If you want to increase PR of your site, you need to submit the article to as many article directories as you can - at least 100 hundreds of article directories.

What I do is write an article for the particular site that I'm promoting and post it online (on the site). Once Google has indexed it I then rehash the article and publish it on several high PR websites. This is good for 3-5 good quality backlinks as well as avoiding penalization for duplicate content.

I would submit the articles to ONLY the highest ranking article directory, this will avoid dupe content issues and give your some SERP power.

    my first choice is

    ezinearticles.com

Most of the article directories don't let you put links in the articles. I submitted to ezinearticles.com but no links were allowed. I liked the goarticles.com setup better. Where can I find ones that allow/require links to the authors site?

This isn't true, ezinearticles.com does allow links in articles. You can put 2-3 in the author bio section of the article.

Also, thanks for the help guys.

You guys/gals do realize there is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty. If you submit the same article to 1,000 directories. Most of them will show up on google for about 2 months, and then Google will start kicking most of them out of the index as duplicates. So, you lose most of the value of the link, but not all of it.

There's no penalty against your site because you submitted multiple copies of the same article. That's ridiculous. The only "penalty" that might happen is that those duplicate articles get kicked out of Google. Big whoop. Just don't put the same article on your website and you're fine.

What I've found is that if you keep moving. I.E. keep posting up articles, you can keep your website propped up. And eventually you end up with good links from external websites, as your articles get published elsewhere. At any time, if you're putting up 1-2 articles a week, you could end up with a running total of about 10,000 incoming links, you just can't stop.

    HTH,

    MR

Was waiting for soemone to chime in here. Submit your articles to GOOD distributers and article sites. Forget PR, you want your article indexed and want readers. You will not get a 'pentalty' for duplicate content, ive even seen somewhere that when all the articles have links to your site, G understands where it comes from, and i believe that G understands sites that are for articles and news. I always post articles on my site and have a whole section for it. What better than someone to like the article and your site and bookmark your site to keep checking back to look at articles you have written?

    Dear
Now i think you have got good answers from all webmasters

presently article submission is the best and easy way to promote your site and get links from higher ranking sites.

but make sure , do Not use Duplicate content in article submission so write your own content and after that start submission.

and also you have to upload those articles on your website so google will Not think duplicate content of your submission.

if you need Best article Directories listing so you can find here, open with www if it is Not.

    Thanks

Yeah guys duplicate content won't be a serious issue unless you have stuck the article all over your own site. I submit to a large amount of directories (pr3+) and see positive results, especially when I initially launch a site.
