Today I added my first video to the worldwideweb. Feel a little less innocent now that any one in the world can watch me, oh well. Its me rappin on a beat I just made, its short and sweet, tell me what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2Wd3ta8IHY
Well, it's not my kind of music, so I'm not going to say anything about the rap... But you need to work on your lighting... Looks like you had a light source behind you, which put the shadows on your face. Move that light source and it should be much improved...
Yeah, Buffalo hit it exactly. I am not into the rapping either, and the face mask kind of scared me in the beginning, I don't know if there is a theme you are going with the darkish scary type?
thanks for the feedback, I'll work on the lighting in the full length music video of another song I'm working on
I think you'd be much better off without the video, simply because the face doesn't match what you would expect the voice to look like and in this case I don't think thats a good thing.
I guess I might have misspoken. Basically, you can't see the person. At least on my (fairly bright) screen, your face is pretty dark. The video looks like it was recorded with a cheap webcam but my guess is youtube's compression had a hand in that. If you're trying to make a rap video, make sure the quality of the video at least matches the quality of the music because otherwise you are dragging it down.
Nice vid Jason, as above sort the lighting and it would be perfect. May I ask, how do you edit your videos, so you show your domain etc at the start, and afterwards, what sort of software is used for this.
I use premier pro but it was rather expensive. you could probably do something similiar with windows movie maker or some free editing software if all you want to do is add a url at the end. I also use photo shop for the still frame of my url
After seeing the video, I know you're not a 12 year old girl, so I'm not going to sugar-coat anything I like some rap, but wouldn't listen to this... First of all, didn't like the background music that much; I think the music should be there to accent the message, not overpower it... Second, the lyrics... I won't buy a CD from a rapper who's just making the CD to make money... I only listen to songs that actually have a meaning, and you can tell effort and heart was put into it... Ever heard of Fort Minor? Great artist, his songs have meaning, and you can tell he's not just doing it for the paycheck, he's actually got something to say...
I am more into punk rock but all the good bands went Emo... but you sound a lot better then some other people i heard on youtube "trying to rap".
thanks for your opinions and your time. I know this vid is not the best quality or anything special I just wanted to see how youtube worked and now I will submit a better video of an actuall song I wrote and produced and not just a freestyle
