Lets assume that I want to create a website about blue widgets. What domain should I choose when bluewidgets.com is taken:

    blue-widgets.com

    or

    bluewidgets.net

    ?

Which one will be better in the matter of seo / in search engine eyes? Is there any difference? I think that both are better than something like bestbluewidgets.com right?

They both will work. The net domain name is harder to promote off line because everyone thinks of .com. If site is just marketed online you can use either one and they both will work fine.

They will both ber very similar from a SEO perspective, although the hyphenated one might do a little better because it's seperated
