So, it's Christmas time soon, and I'm going through my list, buying up presents slowly. The next person on my list is my girlfriend. Shes a fan of 'Sex and the City', so I thought about buying her the box set. Now, the bad is that it's around $350 in retail stores. So I looked around eBay, and wouldn't you know it, you can get the entirely same box set, factory sealed and all, for a maximum for $200. Problem is, every time I throw a bid in, someone automatically outbids me. So apparently, some kind of software I haven't discovered yet is in play here. So, could anyone share any information about this software? I want to see what's up before I just "Buy Now". Thanks to all =)
I can get it here for £49 (about $100). The sign outside the shop is pretty funny too, it says "SEX" in big words then in tiny words under it "in the city boxset" then big words again "£49", I was amused. I should take a picture. No idea about software like that though. But i'm sure ebay will notice it and deal with it accordingly. If you really care, email ebay and tell them.
I'll go down and take a picture tomorow then Yeah, it's from virgin megastores it's £49, incase anyone else wondered
To answer your question: Someone has placed a higher maximum bid than you so Ebay automatically raises the bid to exceed yours up until the other buyer's maximum bid is reached.
