    Hi ..

Rite now i m goin 2 register my domain ftr then will go for a hosting probably in Servage.net or hostgator ...
deciding hard on choosing hosting plans... calculation each nd every part ... my site will b a myspace graphics type site .. so i need at least 4000GB + bandwidth(Or probably more than that .. coz i tried this one using multiple free photobucket accounts.. Bandwidth crossed in each acc.) .. lookin for some other hostings also .. some says UNLIMITED(as Hostgator's Swamp Plan) .. i m confused whether i shd go for those UNLIMITED bandwidth or just simple servage's 3600GB ..

Is there any other gud heavy bandwidth provider out there .. i can invest around $150 per/year ..

:O .... but wats wrong with servage ?

ya 1 think they told me that their daily bandwidth limit is 120GB.. if it gt crosses then they shut down the site for the rest of the day .. they don hv any plan for buying more bandwidth .....

i think a normal site works gud on servage .. coz i know abt my frnd's warez forum which is hosted on Servage.. BUt i hv no Idea about HOstgator ...

so i just want some Info about hostgator... mainly about its SWAMP plan .. having Unlimited Bandwidth .. i jst want 2 know whether there exist any HIDDEN Bandwidth limit in that plan ....Live chat there is ok.. they also confirmed its UNLIMITED .. But as a rule of this world " NOTHING IS UNLIMITED" :p ... anyways I'll go for hostgator if i gt d assurance of Unlimited bandwidth there.. ...

can anybody tell me what is Virtual Private Server??? Is is somthing related to bandwidth issue ??

    thanks

Servage does have a 120gb limit per day, i got my accnt banned when I hit that 3 times. Hostgator is a pretty reputable company. I am using hostmonster (fav), and host gator and they are doing fine for me

    SERVAGE SUXXZ!

Because they are not a reliable company! they once lost all my files....and just said "SORRY" and compensated me with 2 months of hosting.

But WTH!, can that help me to get my files back? They say they have clustered server etc etc. but all these are plain BS. Its the worst hosting company i have ever seen in my life.

I have over 18 people under my referral and i have free hosting of servage until 2009 i think. But Now i really feel bad that i referred those 18 people to that 'sh-pile'

Hostgator is a very reliable company, and i currently have a Reseller + Dedicated Hosting with them (used to have a shared 2 yrs back). Their support is excellent and the uptime/speed is just too good.

Other good Shared hosting (that I have used) -bluehost, hostnine (copycat of Hostgator), Lunarpages.

Crappy Shared Hosting (that i have used) - Servage (Unreliable & slow), Globat (Poor management & Support)

I'd say don't go with any of them as they "both" oversell.
