Huge One of a Kind Debt Site - LOTS of Promotion

Discussion in 'Sites' started by profecy, Nov 16, 2007.

CircleDebt.com is a debt and finance related site. It includes many helpful, unique and "social" finance-realted features including:
    • A Forum (run through Vbulletin)
    • User submitted articles
    • Lender Reviews where users can review their lenders
    • Calculators
    • ...And a "debt help" section through an affiliate program

    Included
Here's what's included with the sale:

Design/Coding - CircleDebt was custom designed and is flawlessly coded into wordpress for extremely easy editing and management.
    My Cost: $1,200

Vbulletin Owned License + Coding - I purchased a vbulletin license and had it custom coded with the main site's design.
    My Cost: $400

Content - the site currently has 43 unique debt related articles uploaded that I had written for the site.
    My Cost: $500

Calculators - I purchased several financial calculators for the site which have been integrated under the calculators tab.
    My Cost: $150

Promotion & Backlinks - CircleDebt has had an enormous amount of promotion and SEO work done to it. I contracted with a professional SEO form for several months to get backlinks. I have also purchased individual links, directory submissions and press releases. The debt niche is a tough one (but very, very lucrative) and I have spent thousands of dollars building up this site. After 6 months we're now seeing sharp improvements in the SERPs.
    My Cost: $2,250

So far my company has spent at least $4,500 on this site an it's really a shame to see it go now.

CircleDebt is virtually a one of a kind website that has enormous potential. We're seeing steady increases in the search engines (even for this very though niche) and it's a shame that we must sell it a this point because I really think that over the next month or two it's going to explode, but my company is moving to a different market and we're selling our financial websites.

Traffic is still low (in the xx to xxx uniques per day) and revenue is low as well. However we have seen very high click through rates and CPM's with adsense and very high percentages of lucrative signups for debt offers. With a decent amount of traffic this property will easily generate $xx,xxx revenue per month.

I think I covered all the vitals here but please PM me with any questions (or more detailed stat information) and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I'm looking for all offers (higher than my original costs outlined above) and do not have a BIN at this point. I reserve the right to not sell circledebt.com for any reason. This sale is listed through multiple sources.

    Thank You

Also, I forgot to mention the auction includes a 609 name mailing list that was created because of a contest on CircleDebt where we gave away several hundreds of dollars worth of American Express Gift Cards. This list has hardly been used and is a completely untapped resource that will be included with a sale.

wait, your costs are 4,500$ and you want us to pay at least over that much? can you show some revenue stats?

you say you only get xx - xxx visitors a day and what that tells me is its around 90-110ish area which isn't a lot, If you even have a good CTR which would be hard for regular sites then it only probably makes around 5-7$ a day if that, which is about 210$ a month if you made 7$ a day.

normally regular sites sell for about 10x monthly revenue unless your site is somewhat unique and then you can usually charge around 1 year up to 2 years worth of revenue but this site isn't unique in anyway, theres probably 1,000s of these sites out there, is yours good? yes i think its pretty good but it doesn't stand out from any other ones visually and template and ease of use ability.

so 210$ x 10 = 2,100$ now you want 4,500$ but we can all agree that we could pay more because all the stuff thats in it. Some things you listed as you paid I personally think you shouldn't even mention because thats just part of the investment on your part and we shouldn't be paying for it like the template design or logo's, if its good nobody will complain but charging for a logo when selling a site should pretty much be free and come with the site.

But anyway, I don't think the site pulls 210$ a month but if it does happen to make it up that high its only worth around 2-3,xxx$ so I think you can get a little more than 2,100$ for it for some of the add ons but i don't think its worth over 3,500$ so will you think of a price drop?

You sound like an investment kind of guy...let's take Apple - ticker symbol AAPL. Right now aapl is "worth" 144 billion dollars yet they only made $3.4 billion this year, how could that be? Because the company is invested in the future, they have high expectations based on next year (not to mention they're valued at 40 years worth of revenue).

Is CircleDebt like Apple? No. But please understand, CircleDebt isn't a run-of-the-mill site that I threw up for the cost of the design. There was a lot of work, money and time put into this property and there's where the value is. It was invested for the future and I have high expectations for it.

yeah thats what i was going to bring up, it has layout issues, and IMO the design isn't spectacular.

And what exactly makes you think that your site is so unique that it even has a chance of beating the 1,000s in its field? What you don't realize is that Apple is probably the biggest companies there is right now for the mp3 player now what you have behind apple is a bunch of lower end companies trying to get a cut of this market, there are already sites like yours that are at the top, so it would take a gods miracle for your site to get big enough to even come close to most its competition at the top right now.

I have 10 sites i invest a lot of time and money in but i can't just pull up every dime i spent on it and expect someone to pay that price as well for a site that can't even cover its own costs in 1 year, its a horrible investment. and if your looking for a buyer who isn't interested in seeing his money back in a long time is a idiot. No offense but nobody cares about what it could be all they care about is getting a good deal for there money and nobody is going to pay for money that doesn't even exist yet. thats like me selling you a brand new chair and telling you in 50 years it will be considered antique and worth money.

    just doesn't make sense.

Wow...No revenue....Spent over 4K for the site and you want how much?.....This market your in is a very huge market and I don't see anything unique or even somewhat different of that of your competitors....Try getting some traffic, revenue and more age to your site first...

Btw not to knock the site it is a nice site but nothing special for your niche

So far bidding is up to $2,600 - if you're not interested in the site I appreciate you bumping the thread for those that are and making my sale more popular, but "opinions" that aren't related to the sale (and only to tear down the site) don't need to be here. This is not a review my site thread it's a sell my site thread.
    Thank you

Apple has assests which in return make up for a lot of the money for this investment. They have over 40 billion in property alone, not to mention computes, servers... Please show the revenue and I will offer 10 months.

    Thanks

Nice site..I like it but $1200 design & coding - over paid..$2300 worth of SEO and only 1,414 backlinks and only PR2. What kind of marketing did you do with $2300? $500 for 43 articles? Well, you wants to buyer pays your mistake(over price design and marketing fee, etc)?

    $1500 from me.
