Black Friday is coming... My list is already growing.

Just thought I would check up with tech people and see what their shopping lists are like..

    For ME:
New Laptop (Looking at the HP's with the etched designs, not the normal circle etch design, dual core AMD 2 gig memory min)
Possibly new screen for my desktop

That's all I want to physically go and purchase.

    But...

    Web STUFF:
I found a code for godaddy that I'm going to use:
cjc12off: 12% off any order for Black Friday (11/23/07 only)
cjc2575: 25% off any order of $75 or more for Cyber Monday (11/26/07 only)

25% percent off any order over $75? Can you say 10 year registrations? I've got a few domains that I'm going to 10 year register with privacy for $145. Looking over the numbers though, a 10 year registration with the 25% off won't do much good as you can use codes to get 6.95 domains all year long, the savings will only help if you want to private register or purchase hosting

In the US, the day after thanksgiving is called "Black Friday"... Stores have insane deals and some people will wait hours in line before a store opens to get in.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(shopping)

    I've seen $2000 TV's for $1000, $800 laptops for $250... stuff like that.

http://bfads.net/adscans there's a list of good black friday deals there...

Good time to buy new computers and TV's

That 25% code for Godaddy will work for people outside the US and would make for some REALLY cheap domain if you have a "discount domain club" membership

u are lucky that you are in texas..

i went 2 years ago, wait for 3 hours outside of the store. It was 0 degree + strong wind...

i got a 19 inches for less than 200, and ram, dvd rom

saw the ads this year and it is not that attractive. just keep check deal site like slickdeals.net or dealsea, sometime they have deal that is better than BF sales. (got a 2GB notebook ram for 47 free shipping, where the cheapest price for BF is 50 +)

Ahh ya there are a lot of good stores here..

Frys Electronics hasn't released their Black Friday ad yet. That's where the best deals will be, but the line outside the store the last couple years wraps around the building more than once

It's called Black Friday because it's the start of the holiday shopping season in the USA (aka Christmas and Hanukkah shopping). This means stores start to get crowded and it gets pretty crowded in the mall. Black Friday, being the day holiday shopping typically starts, is usually the day in which you can find the best deals of the year. Cheap TV's (I'd love to find a nice plasma this year), cheap computers, cheap anything. Black Friday is the busiest and most angering day of the year to go shopping. It's crazy.
