Yep, you're correct. It stinks! Honestly, medical articles should cost more than most other writing because of the specific subjects? Did you ever try GAF?
Medical articles are intended for health workers (doctors, nurses) and are published in medical reviews or on medical online sites, like pubmed.com . Someone, who's engaged in medical research on some medical faculty or health institute, can write medical articles. Research through such articles and making new comprehensive article from them, would still be medical writing. Health articles are ment for patients and other people interested in health. If I spend a lot of time for research, I'll set higher price, of course. If I manage to cover a certain health topic fully - so all info can be found on one place, readers won't need to click on other sites. When I find such an article or a site, I bookmark it, write about it on forums (links), tell others...Other articles, which may be good, but not so comprehensive, are ignored from me, because I still need further research after reading them. GAF was the first freelancer site I've found. I made an offer few days ago, set 4 times higher price as others (with the reason, please) now waiting for reply .
Okay, good luck! As a buyer I know price is not always the most important. If someone have what I'm looking for I would accept a higher price.
