Whats wrong with people? :(

I recently started a thread where i was offering free coding for a few jobs.

I noticed some one had posted a job that was the right sort of size that i was looking for so i pm'ed them and reffered them to the thread.

After a few PM's and the person seem's quite happy to be reciving free coding for obvious reasons... its free.

About an hour and a half later the script is done, completely finished and working perfectly (Or at least i think it was).

So i now go ahead and send a PM to this person with a link to the script running live and a link where he can download the zip.

I never hear from him again  I wasn't asking for money or any thing he just didn't bother writing "Thank you" or leaving a quick iTrader or any thing.

I guess i'll think twice before attempting to do somthing like free coding ever again :p

It's a big forum, say what's your script about, you'll see traffic here :D .

You get some people who are ingrates in this world mate. The majority of us appreciate the kind of help you offered him. Don't turn your back on potential friends and business contacts because of one bad experience. Just my take on it mate.

Well said. Also in the future don't forget you can't receive an iTrader for a free transaction.

Yikes, not even a thank you? I thought that would be the standard polite thing to say.

Hey Buddy :) PM me with your contact info + rates. I'm looking to get to know PHP coders for the future :) I have one friend that does some, but it's nice to have others.

And for the guy that didn't say thanks,

THANK YOU FOR BEING NICE AND GENEROUS.

Give it a few more days maybe? He might send a thank-you note to you later on ;) I think pretty much anyone would expect a thank you or something in return for something free, it's just good manners.

I'm not sure but I think once you offered me a free script because I had posted a question and you wrote up a script for free me, which was a surprise! :)

I did thank you, but I never expected it for free so thanks once again!

P.S. if this wasn't you thanks anyway.

Lol, I have a bad memory so who knows :p

And yes you all make sensible and valid points, It is just extremely annoying not to get a thank you when you've coded a script for some one in 1 and a half hours of talking with them and for free!!!

As for bugging him :p I've sent him like 3 PM's over the past few days but i cba any more lol i'll just have to add his name to my list mwhaha!

    :D
