scenario: i've registered 5 different domain names, in 5 different dates, too. is it possible to change their reg dates to just a single one. instead of nov 3, 6, 8, 12, 13, can i have them as all registered on nov 3? *obsessive-compulsive*
I don't think you can change the registration date, better to set auto renewal, you will not worry then to remember registration date of your each domain name.
Ah, yes.. There is a way to change the registration dates.. Transfer all of them at the same time to another registrar.. Your dates will all start again upon the transfer date. You lose some money/time, but it will do the job!
I don't know where you got that idea, but that's completely wrong. An extra year or so will be added, but that won't change the original creation dates of all those domain names. Only exception I can think of is you transfer it to a registrar who screws that creation date thing, and that can cause unwanted problems.
Godaddy now allows you to do that. Have not tried it but saw this option added in their renewal procedures.
In Go Daddy's case, you pay for the considerable difference until their dates all coincide somehow. It won't be cheap.
Yes yes correct... the OP clearly has to be willing to pay for the extensions or days gained so that the dates coincide
But that new year or additional year as it were starts from the date of the transfer approval. And given all he wants to do is get all the domains renewing on the same date, that would do the trick...
From what I understood with banana's thread, he wants all 5 domain names to have the exact same month and day at least. Banana ought to clarify if what he really wants is all will have the same month, day and year, especially when they're about to expire. When you transfer a domain name (especially .com) among registrars, a year or so will be added but won't change the original registration month and day. If your domain name was registered on November 18, 2007 for 1 year and it's transferred to another registrar on March 4, 2008 for only 1 year, the gaining registrar will change the domain name's date to November 18, 2008. So if domain A was registered on November 18, 2007, domain B on November 20 and domain C on November 22, and all 3 were transferred on March 4, 2008 for only 1 year each, their respective dates will remain the same except for a year added to each one. Is this understood? So no, transferring a domain name among registrars will not make them have the exact same dates. One can probably use Go Daddy's consolidation service as tradester mentioned, but it's not cheap.
