I think we need some 'don't taze me bro' outrage in here by patriotic American's - This deserves real outrage.

What does US patriotism have to do with a Russian being tasered in Canada?

If you're gonna protest about something like this, then us Canadians should be protesting about that cop down in CA that supposedly killed his previous wife and his current wife has magically disappeared. Has nothing to do with us, but if you're gonna raise a stink about the russian situation then we can do the same for stupid things that happen with your police forces.

It's amazing how they already decided to taser him even before meeting him!!!! Like its just some video game! And these people are still on active duty??? What is wrong with the world..

And the idiots dont even try CPR?? They had such energy to taser and suffocate him...probably too tired to do CPR.. Last time I heard a woman in a wheelchair was Tasered to death??

If you got any taste for hurting people and getting away with it.. just join the police..

I found that sad in a way. It's strange how the report ended with "he died for nothing."

True, but so are sticks.. The right conditions often times lead to the wrong consequences...

Do keep in mind that at least in the US, those doing the tazering have to be tazered themselves before they can use one.

Non-lethal weapons are not 100%, but it's a bit better than a bullet.

True, and while I do think tazers are great I also see them abused far too often. Most of the times they are used a bullet would not have been used in the first place.

Great point.. The trouble is, when you know something is not lethal, you tend to be less inclined to show restraint. Most people who own and respect fire arms are hard pressed to use them unless there is no other choice.

I do think that don't taze me brow dude deserved to be tazed though... He was just asking for it.

this would be a situation for a pepper spray at best

what i always wonder...what the hell happened to pepper spray once the taser came along?? pepper spray was a GREAT tool, and IMO taser should only be used after pepper spray fails...

it's a horrible shame and i'm embaressed for the RCMP

as far as the comment about canada being a 'police state'...what a crock of crap. canada has one of the lowest amount of police officers per capita of any country in the free world. it's very low

i can go weeks without seeing a cop in my town.

Pepper spray sucks.. It is not lethal by any means, nor does it stop people.. It just pisses you off. Wanna see someone get more violent? Use pepper spray..

I can attest to that lol. I went on a bender a few years back and the club we were at was raided. Needless to say a few people got aggressive and the police opened up on the masses with fire extinguisher sized canisters of mild mace/pepper spray. It didn't calm anybody down - I think it made the situation worse tbh.

Its not the voltage that kills you - its the current. Tasers have stuff all and can't by themselves kill you - however the stress of a intense epidsode can cause people to have a heart attack, but so can a struggle, etc.

I watched the video I wonder if he was suffering a diabetic episode or drug affected - he seemed to be sweating and disorientated - just like a diabetic about to go into a coma - the autopsy will tell.

What we don't hear so much in the news is the number of lives Tasers save by giving police another option than shooting someone

Is this actually true? You have to be tasered before you can get one in the states? I've never heard of that before.

The police departments for the most part do taser everyone for training before being issued a taser 'from what I know'

That's interesting...do they also make you wear a vest and shoot you in the chest before they give you a gun? lol Yeah stupid question I know, considering you can walk into a walmart down there and walk out with a gun a few minutes later ;)
