Yes it is. The rules are written. If he relay on forum to make money, he should be extra careful.

Also you stressed that he is a "senior" member. So i assume he know and understand the rules. And he still broke it, does that mean he don't give a damn?

A Senior member has spent more hours of his life in DP than others. So, if he breaks any rule, its just his side, he just cant excuse that he dint knew the rule.

And if someone is making his living ONLY from DP, he must be a kid. Not a senior, since they know if they are banned from here, they are gone.

    Katy,

I know this thread is a few mths old but you are the only mod online right now and I have a technical question for something you raised in this post.

You mentioned "auction ending time" is regarded as a pure bump. Is this correct? If it is, then I have to change my marketing strategy and appear to be a little more aggressive in business.

I say this because I have an auction currently running in the Link Sales thread and I want the auction to end in 24hrs. If I let bidders know the auction ends this time tomorrow I will cop an infraction yes? (actually it is a yes because it already happened just now.)

In order for me to not get an infraction you are suggesting I just end the auction without warning?

It just seems a little messy for this rule in this area. Maybe there is some VB Mod around for auction threads that count down?? That way it can't be manipulated by sellers for bumps and everyone can see when the auction ends. I think sitepoint has something like this.

I would like to have this clarified. I just PM'ed Rob and asked him but he's now offline.

    Hoping for some help.

    Thanks,

    Col :)

    Well I mean posts like:

    Auction ends in 24 hours

    Auction ends in 15 hours

    Auction ends in 2 hours

are bumps. I think it's always better to set an ending date in your first post to avoid unnecessary infractions. :)

Also, Smyrl made a great thread here, if you haven't read it yet:

OK...I didn't know about that rule (I should say I never read about it) and now I will have to change the way I do business. I have started plenty of auctions before and have always done it this way. However, I will wear the infraction and move on.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

An option if you want to update info in a thread, is place that info in a graphic in your opening post. That way if you want to change ending time, BIN, etc you edit your image which you control.
