Check out this site using widgetbucks... The line above that add says Click & Win. How deceptive is that? It is evil but very smart.

He has just named that Widget 'click and win' in his account settings - anyone can do that.
It does seem a little deceptive, yes. Wonder what his CTR is like.

Give it some time :) With widgetbucks banning for any slightest reason, this person should be receiving an email from the very soon :)

    I agree.

Although it is a somewhat clever (yet very unethical) trick, this shouldn't be posted in the AdSense section. Just wondering what made you check the box when posting this thread when it clearly said:

There's a Pay Per Click section dedicated to the other PPC companies.

My bad I thought it would be interesting since google adsense does not allow users to have ad headings

It certainly dosen't and for good reason - the one you have mentioned in your original post, this is tricking the user and will surely be stopped as soon as wb click on to it.

its very tricky, nice idea but dont thay WB will allow it. Since its on the WB TOS.

i think its going to produce a good ctr but will not convert for sell

I think this is what is known as effective marketing, do not see anything wrong with that.

This is clearly a violation to the terms of use for WB. The account may get some extra clicks but I am sure they will not be paid out for them. There ban will come soon enough.

Yes that widgetbucks title thing will probably go away soon. I saw a website called "Free Software" and the widgetbucks had that same title above the ad, and the ads were all non-free software (obviously). Now THAT is deceptive.

Deceptive strategy, but it works... this sort of technique has been employed for a while with all sorts of adds.

"Click to win" "Click for a chance to win" "Click to redeem your prize" "You are our 10283th visitor, click to win"
