I've had way too many viruses and popups show up with IE7. Even with it's "pop-up" blocker, I get probably a dozen tabs that open up everytime I open the stupid thing. So I only use it when I have to.
If it was not for such tight integration there would not be the revolution we call Windows. Integration is what sells software these days and without it other OS would take Microsoft's place as leader. Very Good article. Just shows what happens when a company gets a lot of recognition. They start going commercial and the security they once had is lost. I bet if Micorosoft did this it would be all over the blog news. I looked at it and I don't see anything revolutionary about it. The one revolutionary peice of software in the browser section that I have seen recently has been OpenRide by AOL and it still has a lot of flaws especially with speed and integration. But its a good idea nonetheless. Maybe the second version will put it on par with FF and IE.
I use ie7 and a standalone ie6 for testing. I've found the standalone ie6 is better than the standalone ie7's i have used.
I use IE if a website doesnt work in firefox, which happens alot for some reason! Java script is messed up on firefox for me
Rubbish. Windows was already around, Microsoft merely packaged their other products with it to increase there monopoly on other areas. Since when was IE the major cause of Windows success? The only reason they did it was to beat Netscape in the browser war. Security-related bugs are automatically considered important and fixed, as it says in the article. Nothing from AOL will ever be worth the download.
Hi! I use IE7 but shifted back to firefox as i often use to get hang up or Needed to restart IE, Would like to say Firefox Rock. Best Regards, Rohit
From all the reports I have gotten. People continue to say that IE was better than the Netscape browser. Of course the reason Microsoft did IE was to beat up Netscape but that is beside the point. AOL's service is good for those who have money to waste. Their new browser as I said has potential but is no where near IE or FF at the moment.
Yes, it was in the end. The first version weren't, though, and Microsoft decided to force it onto people in order to "squeeze the air out of netscape" (That's an almost-direct quote) rather than persuade them to move to IE by making it a superior browser. Umm, no it's not. It's a crappy service used mostly by people who have no clue what they're doing and merely found them the easiest to sign up with and the most difficult to get rid of.
I use IE7. In my opinion, Internet Explorer 7 is much better than its earlier cousins. Of course, Firefox is better than IE7 in some areas, partly because IE7 is not updated as often as Firefox.
yes , for sure , i love to surf net on IE7, its TAB feature is so comfortable moreover the looks are so good. As compared to opera , its startup is so fast. All the user of IE7 must be satisfied by it i suppose
Fire fox all the way. I just hate IE. Like others, I still do open IE, just for testing my HTML in it. other than that I'm a firefox boy through and through...
I haven't used IE7 (or any version of IE really) to surf in years. I only use it to sort out compatibility issues when designing, but other than that I just can't stand to use it. I prefer FF over IE any day.
I dont find fire fox that much better.... just most of the malacious code out there targets IE causing problems for it...
