I have used TATA earlier now I am using Reliance data card with my Laptop. I think you should choose between these two... both are equally good. You can see which one has a good network reception in your area.
Internet via Mobile network (Airtel, Vodafone etc) won't be fast enough. So I suggest you go for USB data modem~!

Actually in edge areas, gsm mobile networks provide better speeds than tata or reliance, at times upto double of cdma.

Initially i had a lot of disconnecting problem. Then i went to huawei customer care, and they said that the usb is faulty..
They gave me a new usb cord and now its working fine. Now very less disconnection problems :)

Go For BSNL or Airtel.. They are good ones. You can go for Reliance too but Never go for TATA. Tata Indicom really sucks.. Very very very bad experience with them in past. I have lost my 5500 INR with them..

You can visit following forum to choose one:

    Hope this helps..

You need to have very strong signal if you use Plug to surf USB modem. I was using that one in laptop and have to switch to GSM data card.
