I can hear only my cpu fan sound not my hard disk sound when it's on.

Try to consult your doctor if you hear your hard drive when you are sleeping :D

I lost about 6 months of work (back in the dark ages) thanks to WD. Back up that WD now! (preferably to a Seagate) :p

If it is sqeaking or scratching sound, better buy a new HD & backup your old driver, cause those sound is the sign of a dying HD

The HDD in the computer next to me has been loud for about 5 years now.
If I leave the computer off for a day or so it's absolutely nasty sounding for about 10 minutes when I turn it back on again.

I dont hear hardrives unless im downloading something big, then noisy maxtor starts talking to me.

I miss having a Seagate drive, much quieter.
