This Saturday will be the main match between Israel and Russia. What do you think, who will go through Russia or England?

I know it will be hard to win in Israel, but at the same time if England draws with Croatia, we still have chances.

Russia have the best chance to qualify and have their destiny in their own hands, but as I'm English I couldn't imagine us not qualifying, it would be wierd to watch the Euros next year and not see us playing :(

England I hope, but does it really matter? unless we sack the manager we will not get far.

Also good luck Scotland! if only we had a manager half as good as yours:)

Matteh, yeah your manager isnt that great + he's rude. When playing in Moscow he ignored the russian media.

Btw, I got an ifraction for starting this thread just because I started it in General and not in Entertainment, how kind of you moderator! I know you love russians :)

^ thats for another thread I guess:)

Until this year, Israel was undefeated for long time on their soil, but managed to lose match vs. Croatia. Russia will have very difficult task to do, but we must not forget that they do need this victory and Israelis don't. IMO, Russia will win...

I dunno, it might be nice to have a Tournament where we've got all the disappointment and frustration of not winning it out of the way before it even starts! Saves getting knocked out on penalities.

Assuming we don't fluke it we've got to hope that Russia and Croatia have really bad tournaments. If one of them wins it it will just be another excuse to bury our heads in the sand by claiming that we were unlucky to get drawn in a group with the eventual winners. People (McClaren) will say that if we'd got a weaker group it would have been ok.

SeagullSid I've also heard about the initiative in English newspapers (one columnist wrote about it) that England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France should directly be qualified to all future Euros. That's what really isn't fair and sucks big time...

Eh? I certainly haven't heard that - anyone else in England heard that story? Have you got a source mate_pl?

Certainly I don't know anyone in England who would support it. Qualification should always be on merit.

I definitely agree. I've seen it in Croatian newspapers a few days ago. I forgot the name of the columnist but it may be one of the columnist from those trash newspapers like Sun... Our journalists love to quote guys like these to burn the atmosphere before the game... They said that this is like Eurosong contest :)

Haven't read that but can believe that a columnist, probably an ex footballer, wrote it. There so far up their on arses that they think all the big teams should be qualified into every tournament without having to play against lower opposition. I once heard Alan Hansen (ex Liverpool) say that the big teams in the Premiership, ie Chelsea, ManUre should be allowed byes in the FA Cup and League Cup and come in around the fifth round. What a stupid comment to make.

Get In, now we gotta hope that we can beat Croatia on Wednesday. I can't believe Israel held out after 45 minutes of pressure from the Russians and end up winning the match. Thanks alot Israel :D
