It seems that when most people buy links (except sitewides) they mainly buy pr3-7 links. Most of the internet, of course, is PR0 or 1. Would google notice it as unnatural if you have, say, 20 PR4 or 5 links and only 100 pr0-1 links pointing to your site? Does anyone have experience in buying higher PR links and having success (or a lack of it)?
Buying\Selling text links is against Google TOS. Doing so might result in your website getting penalized. There are many threads about this already on DP with quite a few responses. You should view those.
are you kidding me? everyone on this forum trades and sells links. to the op, when you buy links your site cannot be penalized due tot he fact that competitors could hurt your site. The worst that could happen is that site selling the links would not pass PR or be penalized. ie you wasted your money. If they see unnatural results in your linking, they may investigate the high PR sites who are selling in my opinion.
I repeat.... buying text links is against Google TOS, this was stated on matt cutts official Google blog. Just because many people smoke weed doesn't mean its legal.. right? You can buy and sell them all you want, I don't care really, just don't come complaining on the forums when your site gets penalized and your investment was wasted. www.mattcutts.com/blog/text-links-and-pagerank/ http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/text-link-follow-up/
You do realize that if the site your buying links from gets penalized you will no longer get pagerank or serp weight from them, this is how they penalize text link selling sites. They prevent them from being able to pass on pagerank juice and lower serp weight if not almost all together. So in effect, you will also not be getting any pagerank or SERPs weight anymore which means you also got penalized and wasted your investment. If you understand the reason why so many sites lost PR & SERPs that didn't buy or sell is because of backlinks, their backlinks down the road were penalized or were on the recieving end of a penalization. Before you go making large text attempting to make some look like they have no clue what they are talking about do some research and common thinking.
I do not need to do any research as I know what I am talking about. By buyers not being penalized I meant that the worst that can happen is that they wasted their money. Guess what? This is business, people will lose money. If you spend a lot of time natural link building and no one responds, you just wasted your time. Time is money right? As a buyer, you will not go down in the serps or lose any PR any lower than where you were before buying the links. Again, the only potential loss is money, which is also the gain if the links do not go down. This is called business my friend.
Making your investment a complete waste. Remind me not to go to you for smart buisness practices, not smart buisness owner would do something that he knows will eventually make his investment a waste.
that is a very narrow view. In this current climate, google has no way of detecting private sales like through forums here. Say in two years they do. In those two years, the business buying the links could have earned more revenue and expanded based on the potential benefits. Not to mention google will never find the majority of those selling links. Simply because the links will look like natural links with relevant content, except the person happened to pay for them. when you will learn to stop attacking people and stick to the facts at hand?
You can get penalised by buying links. Not Banned. Especially if you buy hundreds of links in a short period of time with the same Anchor Text. Australian SEO Firm Found Agency is a classic example of this, as is John Chow.
This is an opinion here on the boards. However, another opinion is that you will not. You may not get the benefit from such a strategy and have wasted your money, but will not be any worse than you were before. Why? I can go to tnx.net or some links farms, and get thousands of links for my competitors ina short amount of time. And google will penalize the original site? I do not think so. If I am wrong, please explain.
There's a couple of posts floating around on WMW discussing how pointing a few links to your competitors & surrounding it with the text "Sponsored Links" can drop them out of the serps. I agree that's there's conflicting information, but until it happens to you I guess you'll think differently. I've seen penalties for overuse of Anchor Text in Inbound Links so I see no reason why you couldn't do that to your competitors.
It isn't necessary to buy high PR backlinks. Many of them are already available to you, if you know where to look. The link in my sig tells about my report that shows you how to get high PR backlinks from multiple domains...without having to pay for them.
why not try acquiring your links in more than one manner, e.g. do something else in addition to buying links? that will make it look a bit more natural. and you probably want to stay away from the big link networks that Google has already learned to figure out.
also matt cutts says yahoo dir and texlinks ads are better keep buying mates...but not like alive or aviva owner... for me ex: pr 9 only 1 pr8 2 pr7 5 pr6 10 pr 5 20 ...numbers are my own idea and budget limit
