New Adsense Trick?

    I have found http:// filexoom .com a few moments ago, and noticed the Adsense ads from the bottom left. I don't think that the method he is using it's ok with Adsense, because basically he is using very small bullets, images next to the ads.

    Anyway I imagine that this increaseshis ctr :) Would you risk your Adsense account for more clicks?

    this is not a problem in my opinion , you can put a background with... flowers if you want too but don't modify the code , he don't tell ... click the arrow , nothing...i saw a search box modified ... this is a big problem ... when you hide , modify Google logo , is just my opinion ...

    I think it doesn't comply with AdSense TOS because it was mentioned that any trials to give more attention to the ads might get you banned.

    yes isn't good , but when i think at websites that use ads on redirected pages or a modified search box , this remain a small problem for me

    The main problem here is modifying the code.

    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-xxx";
    google_ad_width = 160;
    google_ad_height = 350;
    google_ad_format = "160x600_as";
    google_ad_type = "text_image";
    google_color_border = "F1F2F3";
    google_color_bg = "F1F2F3";
    google_color_link = "8100B3";
    google_color_text = "666666";
    google_color_url = "8100B3";
    //-->
    </script>

    Imges are to close to ads also. This little triangle is also image so it's against TOS, but i must say that it's looking nice :)

    About year ago I was testing images close to ads, everybody was doing this "trick" then. I haven't noticed that my CTR increased. I removed images and CTR was still the same - very low. At this website ads were so bad targeted that nothing could help them :)

    You're also not allowed to have a box that says Sponsors over your google ads.

    Yep, I'd say this is a pretty clear cut violation of the tos. It looks good, but it will eventually backfire.

    It does look very nice but editing the code is not allowed like others pointed out. If he makes that a 160x600 it could be allowed but the only way to know is to ask Google themselves.

    It's still not allowed. The bullet points are distracting.

    Yeah, that's risky. More traffic, but I wouldn't take that risk.
