This is really tricky. The fate of the England team no longer lies on their hand. Will they be out of the Euro 2008, the first time since 1994?

I doubt McLaren will want to follow in Taylor's footsteps.

That said, Croatia should easily draw or win against Macedonia on Saturday.

Israel vs Russia is the key game, because I for one, cannot see Andorra beating Russia.

As much as it pains me to say it, I don't think we'll make it. However i'm not going to say its impossible, just the odds are very much staked against us. Hopefully Israel beat Russia, but we've then got to beat Croatia and we always seem to lose when we need to perform.

Yes. They've played complete rubbish this campaign and deserve to be out.

Nope. England did qualify for Euro 1996. Shearer ended up top scorer, I think.

Graham Taylor and his boys failed to qualify for the World Cup in the States in 1994.

As an American, I gotta be honest, I regret the fact we don't get as amped as you lot do about this thing. Nice part of your culture.:)

Just being watching SkySports News :D and there was some Austrian fans on who were being interviewed and they said it wouldn't be the same if England weren't there and they hoped they would qualify, basically the financial side for the Austrians would drop increasingly aswell, as we always travel in numbers and spend lots of money on beer etc

    A little too much ...
I don't see any culture lately in european soccer damn it. Every week we have someone killed when hooligans go out not to watch soccer but to fight. Shamw what is happening lately.

As for England...I hope they qualify but the group is strong, very strong  Too little space for all quality teams to qualify. Other groups are messed aswell.

Don't worry for austrians. Russians are better tourists since they spend more ;) Ask some spanish guys here how much they bring when they travel

I don't care about financial "view" but it would be really bad not to see England playing from soccer point :(

Croatian are in Euro on Saturday, Macedonia won't be a problem... From Croatian point of view, I am really optimistic when looking forward to England-Croatia match :)

Croatia is looking stronger than ever ! And let's not forget their very good results for past 15 years ! I would say better results than England overall!

Would be good if both Scotland and England qualified, however both could miss out altogther. Would there be any chance if we both went through that we could get drawn in the same group? ;)

Scotland is a different story. Their fate lies on their own hand. If they win, they go through; unfortunately, not for England.

*sigh* then it means, we don't get to see Wayne Rooney, the potato man, bulldozing his opponents.

They've got everything going for them going into the match. Firstly its at Hampden, home fans will be mental. Secondly they are in no way under pressure to go through, although many fans will be gutted if they don't after the hard work they've put in the qualifiers, and thirdly there playing a team who really shiouldn't be in the situation they are in going into this match and the Italians will have all the pressure of coping with the media hype leading up to this game etc.
