Google is becoming more unpredictable regarding PR's . Its difficult to predict wat google is upto ... but i think nothing to worry as its happening to most of the sites.

Don't pay much attention to PR. You should focus on content and traffic. PR is good to sell links. :p

Mine also went down. :( One blog from PR3 to PR1!

"I report you" and "you report me". This is a classic instance when you report a website selling links to Google, and then some webmaster sees yours selling links and reports to Google. It's a loss/loss.

The website I manage has lower PR by 2 points, but the real ranking at search engines especially Google is the same even a bit better. Traffic stays the same. Nothing happened but the PR change. I think webmasters should boycott PR from today.

All mine went up. A lot of sites that went down are those who try to out smart Google by questionable methods. It is best to work on good content and build quality links instead of focusing on how to improve your PR. If you build a quality site and keep it updated with quality content, your PR will reflect that. The more one tries to manipulate their PR the worse they do.

As far as PR being 50% of your SERP, this has been proven false by the fact that many PR0 sites make it to the top in SERPs without the PR.

Seems that new Google algo works well against link selling.
PR of my site that sells some links, gone from PR4 to PR3. PR of other site that don't sell link stay same or go up.

Yeah I agree there, even if my sites had great SE rankings and traffic I would still check PR as a force of habit.

That doesn't make the Pagerank export "bad", Google does alter the way it's calculated from time to time.

What makes it bad is when you have sub-pages go PR4 and they have only got 1 link from a PR0 page. Or when you have a PR5 page, with 3 links on it to internal pages and 2 of those links go PR4 and the other PR0.

Or how about your homepage going PR3 but having some internal pages go PR7 when they don't have the link quality or volume to deserve it but the homepage does.

So yes, i agree the last update was very bad and not because i lost Pagerank because i didn't but because of all the anomolies that don't add up.

I wouldn't say its an incursion or a that you did something wrong. It seems to me that Google changed it's PR algo to give certain types of links, like paid links, directory links and possibliy forum links and blog links, less value. So you're thinking 'but I don't have have paid links and dir links etc,' but maybe the sites that you get backlinks from do and their PR has dropped, so less PR juice for you. Also, those sites might have twice as many links on the page that links to you so even less PR to your site. :(

Bottom line is you can't think of your existing PR as in the bag. Things on the sites the link to you change so even if you get more backlinks, it doesn't mean your PR will automatically be higher.

But then again, I don't work for Google, so this is just my (mis)understanding.
