So i thought, hey i have a powerful computer now, alot of ram and quad core so i now have vista, but a few applications don't run on it, like adobe dreamweaver CS3 and Illustrator, and i really need these programs is there anyone that could give me a hand on this? Cheers
Don't they run? Damn, i'm about to get a new computer with vista. Good job i'm keeping my old one with XP then.
ACiD394, Try this: Take off Vista, Slap on Windows XP It will work great then! Seriously, Vista doesn't support a lot of software upgrades, drivers, etc.
Yes, but i don't wanna run xp, its boring... ive never been a fan of vista, but i like it now but yeah, it's just fucking annoying! like photoshop works and all my hardware is made for vista
Yeah, this is the only reason i'm getting vista. I'll only get the full performance from my new computer if I get vista on it (XP can only use 2Gb of ram, as far as I know anyway, my new computer has 4Gb).
I wonder why that's happening, I'm currently using Vista with only 2gig ram and it works great with all programs. I wonder what's up with yours. I still want to get XP back though.
Is there any way to make your computer have dual OS's? Like macs can? Just cause that would be a good option for me to do with my new computer.
Try running the programs in Compatibility mode. I had to run GTA: San Andreas in Windows 98 compatibility mode in order to play it error free, that was my only software problem with Vista. Yeah it's called dual boot, and it's pretty easy to set up. I'm running Vista and Mepis Linux.
Agree with you as VISTA doesn't support so many applications. I have window VISTA on my lappy but i can't install Zonealarm,Nero on my lappy due to VISTA OS
Here's some advice, when you are trying to install software for an OS, make sure it is the compatible version for that particular OS. It may also help to check the software pages for any install documents relating to Vista and their software. I have installed those software on Vista on my laptop and had no issues.
