If you want we can go toe to toe on the bible issue. In fact when I used it I was just giving it as an example not saying its an authority on the issue. But anyways the bible has yet to prove one historical event wrong. The only events that are debated by historians in the bible is the creation story. But every historical account has been proved true so far. Anyways leave the bible out of it. Do you know that the so called fossils of dinosaurs that have been found....do you know that human remains have also been found near to these same fossils? Also if the world is always evolving how come for the past 6,000 years we have not seen not the slightest change in the cycle as evolution would propose? If this world is evolving scientists should be able to show something that has changed since they found its fossils years ago. Plus look at how many animals evolutionists thought were dead only to find them living in the bottom of the sea in Japan. The reasoning is seriously flawed. It needs to be taken back to the drawing board.
Lets start with Noahs Ark. You do realize it physically "impossible" to obtain even 1% of earths mammals, let alone 2 of every single one. Second, a massive flood would of destory almost all plant life, due to decay and lack of photosynthesis. This is one of many, take your pick You do realize that remains and fossils are two seperate things, this is laughable you even mention that in the same context has they would. Again, they've never found dinosaur "fossil" near human "fossils", just remains. I hope you're aware evolution takes millions of years, for the sake of argument I'll it takes a solid million years. In what your saying in the 0.6% of time we had to watch evolution we can disprove it? I think not. Below are a few links I left you, if you're any sort of a real debater on this subject you'll gladly read my references. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/library/faq/ http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/library/faq/cat04.html
Except for the ressurection, the flood (unless you are willing to believe the story was blown WAY out of proportion), the exodus, shall I go on? Wow, No, they haven't... unless you want to count a few million years of dirt betwixt the two or areas along faults/erosion - of course until archealogical excavation became common practice erosion was the most common way of finding fossils in the first place. Wow - just - wow. I've seen some ignorant ****ing **** online, but that's a real winner. As many new species are come into being every day as there are species making a great exit - and the concept of natural selection is tied hand-in-hand with artificial selection, aka selective breeding. Try selling that malarkey to someone who breeds dogs, they'll laugh in your face. Natural selection occurs when survival of the species depends on it - it is a simple, easy to understand concept that makes a HELL of a lot more sense than saying it was all just 'created'. Much less that in the grand scheme of things 6,000 years is bupkis... It's been 20,000 years since cro-magnon, and at least 1.2 MILLION years since austrolopithicus. I think you mean remains - it takes several thousand years for fossilization to occur... and if you want species that have changed and adapted look around you - there are millions of speciest that today bear little resemblance to their ancestors of just a thousand years ago, and again a thousand years is a drop in a 5 billion gallon tank. No, I'd say your reasoning is flawed - evolution is driven by natural selection - natural selection means a species is forced to change by changes to the environment. A species at the bottom of the sea long thought extinct is likely a distant relative to a species that lives today - the difference is those isolated survivors found a place where they did not have to adapt - those everywhere else either died off or adapted. But then, people will come up with the craziest nonsensical reasoning to support faith when confronted with concepts that run against it. The key is to question EVERYTHING and to CHANGE your belief when new facts arise. But, that's the difference between science and religion. Scientists will change and adapt as soon as new facts become available - religious wackjobs fervently believe made up bullshit no matter how many facts you present them with. Most of them had their way we'd still be sacrificing virgins at volcanoes and slaughtering each-other in tribal warfare because the gods demanded it... Oh wait, that second one sounds familiar.
God hasn´t banned me yet, well actually once but that was a different story. I think God is more into warning people than punishing though, at least according to my record of receiving infractions.
Are you sure stox is gone? I seem to remember him posting comments like the quote above quite often. They don't take the discussion anywhere, and it really just makes you look like an idiot unfortunately.
Oh now you believe in God???? But you can't see the mods, how do you know their real. Maybe it's just a big script
Yes unfortunately the blind follow the blind, Stox will exist in all those that deny the lord. For every painting there is a painter. We did not evolve. We were created in the likeness of God
I'm sorry, sb, but I find this comical. "Stox will exist in all those...." Has the ring of a magical substance, or a cult leader, instead of a very ordinary, I would guess, young, and now, gone, fellow.
I'm curious, how much actually time have to taking to look outside the box? You seem hell bent in a certian direction, I'm curious how did you become the religious fellow you are? What happened to make you think this way? How did you final know god exisited? Don't try to beat around the bush, answer it trustful, for you should not be scared to speak of your connecting with the big old guy, right?
To be completely honest with you, I didn't find God he found me. I went to church when i was young, never really liked it much, it always put me to sleep. I actually got saved when i was 10 (at least i thought i was). A preacher asked those that were sinners to come forth and repent, accept Jesus as our savior, so i came forward, the preacher said a prayer, and boom! I was supposed to be saved. Well i still went to church here and there, no real dedication, i always thought i was saved, but never felt a difference. Eventually i stopped going all together. I wasn't saved, but i didn't realize it till almost 20 years later. After I met my wife (which is an amazingly long story of Gods work) we decided to visit some churches to see if we could find one we liked. We went to a couple till we found one we were comfortable with. Well one day my wife was at a bible study with some other women, and she met this girl, this girl was a member of the house church i now attend. We decided to visit this house church, the first time we went we were studying 1st john, this book in the bible is like the acid test for Christianity. If you doubt at all whether you are saved or not read it. I come to realize i was not saved. I never changed my way of living, i did not have any fruit of a walk with God. Well that very night God spoke to my heart, and he told me to repent, he told me i was his child and that i needed to live for him. So i did. From that moment on, i felt the change, I began to bare fruit, I was complete at last.I could feel God with me everywhere. You want to know why im so convinced its because God is a fact in my life, not an imaginary friend. He is the reason i come home to my wife and kids, instead of going to the bar after work. He is the reason I send money to orphans in china. He is the reason i do any good, he is the reason i smile when i think of my life. Don't get me wrong, my life is not perfect, i have had many trials, and i have just come out of a really hard one, but i can still smile because i still feel the presence of God, and i know he has helped me through them. And by staying faithful, i glorify him. I know God is real because i have a relationship with him. Maybe you think im just a loon, but look at it like this, Christians may disagree about some details, but one thing we will agree on is the existence of God. Not only do we agree, we proclaim it with a stubborn head, because we know. We Know!
