Obama and the Muslim mystery

Obama also took time to respond to a rumor that claims he was educated in a madrassa, and raised as a Muslim.
    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
"If I were a Muslim I would let you know," he said. "But I am a member of Trinity United Church of Christ on 95th street on the South side of Chicago. We got the best choir in town and if you all want to come and worship with us you are more than welcome."

So what does that mean ?

    What religion is he?

What he says he is. He was active in Chicago politics and his church long before any presidential aspirations.

Not that it should actually matter what he was raised as although thats debatable with the religious bigots.

    FYI:

Madrasah (Arabic: مدرسة, madrasa pl. madāris) is the Arabic word for any type of school, secular or religious (of any religion). It has been loaned into various other languages. It is variously transliterated as madrasah, madarasaa, medresa, madrassa, etc. In common English usage the word "madrasah" has been taken to refer to an Islamic religious school.[1]

"I don't have — I don't maintain — a file of eight years of work in the state Senate because I didn't have the resources available to maintain those kinds of records," he said at a recent campaign stop in Iowa. He said he wasn't sure where any cache of records might have gone, adding, "It could have been thrown out. I haven't been in the state Senate now for quite some time."

Obama sure does dumb up real fast when you try to look at his past.

There is a new controversy about concerning Obama:

I can't stand when people try to belittle obama for how he reacted to the star spangled banner... What a superficial attack... How about we judge people on their ideas, values, and goals, instead of how closely they follow proper flat/national anthem etiquette...

Also, looking at the flag during the anthem is another "flag etiquette" rule, notice that hillary and richardson are looking in different directions; that means one of them (or both) isn't looking at the flagpole...

A lot of voters will not even consider him because of what you just said without even looking at what he stands for I find that really sad. The same will probably be the fate of Hillary because shes a woman.

Obama does raise a lot of questions. He was raised a muslim in a foreign country. His State Senate records are missing.

Seymour Hersh has picked up on this story too
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20071116/cm_thenation/15252300

    Quote
Of course if Obama did win the nomination, one can only imagine what the Republicans would do with the fact that his father was a Muslim. We've already had Mitt Romney smiling next to a campaign sign in South Carolina that said "No to Obama Osama."
