Paypal Question..will the merchant see our details?

Hello,

Suppose I want to buy a product or service, say web hosting, from a certain merchant. Instead of using my credit card, I use my paypal to pay. After I make the payment, what is the information that the merchant will be able to see? If we pay by using credit card, the merchant can see our name, address, phone number, email etc. If we pay by paypal, will the merchant be able to view all these details, or is it simply the paypal email ID that's shown, and nothing else?

They only can see your name, country and whether you are verified or not, other information are protected as per their privacy statement.

 

Its an option for the merchant..... when they create an invoice they will set thta... Either they make the shipping address optional or they make it mandatory... so if its mandatory then ur address will be shared with them..... SOMEONE Correct me if am wrong......

 

That is correct. The only information that will not be shared when using paypal is your phone number.

 

How about when someone sends money to me? What information will they see about me?

 

do we have to verify an invoice? how do you know that they have chosen that option??

 

I think we can knw that while paying the invoice.... I need to check that...

 

When I pay someone on paypal, I only see their name and email address and nothing else.
