I didn't see a thread directly dealing with this although many talking about it. What I want to know is who you all think should get in AND why. Don't just say John Doe, explain why he deserves it and explain where he stands up for our rights and liberties. I am voting for Ron Paul, he stands for the American way, liberty, freedoms which Bush has been doing is best to take away such as our privacy. He is pro-life and that is a big thing with me. A google search for Ron Paul will give you everything he believes and stands for... try that for the other candidates, its much harder to find. Especially Hillary who seems to want to stand on the fence and talk out both sides of her mouth. I don't want to start a heated political debate, I want to see who and why your voting.
A great place to look is ontheissues.org to find out basic stances and major voting record. Besides that, it definitely does get harder to find opinions and writings by other candidates. Ron Paul is fortunate enough to get his writings published at Lew Rockwell's Blog, and it might help other candidates to be more transparent about their views publicly also.
I always vote None. Curiously, a lot of time he wins by a wide margin, but the elites never let him run. Elections are a circus that keeps you entertained while they rape you, and makes you feel like you are in charge. None 2008!
Ron Paul because he stands for the Constitution DIRECTLY. no middle man. now someone tell me, what is more American than that?
Ron Paul just passed 8.1 million dollars raised this quarter. How many of you have pledged for the Tea Party?
Why? I can't imagine a clearer way of saying that you accept no one When I was 18 or so, I participated in elections for the first and last time. The guy I voted for (the lesser of 2 evils) lost, was forced into immigration, and the guy who became the president was his complete opposite. I thought I made it very clear I did NOT want him, but no one cared. They don't give you more or less freedom depending on whether you vote for freedom. Everyone is treated the same way
It's coming. Right now the biggest issues are closed primaries and ballot access petitions. Considering how decentralized the campaign is, it's amazing how much work has been accomplished by volunteers.
I am NOT an american but here's what I think. As a republican candidate: Ron Paul As a democratic candidate: Barack Obama Being a very liberal person, I would vote for Ron Paul as republican candidate, as he seems to be the most liberal out of them all. I would vote for Barack Obama as he seems to have some good ideas about education and poverty. P.S. I have started a political forum that some of you may be interested in called Politics On Fire
If you do the adsense revenue sharing thing at your forum, let me know, I'll post like there's no tomorrow
I'm not, nor can I vote for any candidate yet... You have to wait until after the primaries for a general election to do that.. Too early to tell atm, IMO..
You won't be participating in the primaries Mia? Paul is the most (small L) libertarian. He's for civil rights. But he's also for a lot of conservative, small government, anti-socialist positions. It's sad that the lines between conservative and liberal have been so blurred by the neocons on both sides.
Ron Paul is the most conservative Republican let alone candidate in the entire race. He isn't even close to liberal, and you have your own politics forum? You don't ever know what Barack is talking about he is amazing at beating around the bush. I don't want a president who can't make up his mind.
I am not sure how you can like Obama and Paul at the same time? One wants to raise taxes, the other abolish IRS? One wants preventive nuclear strikes, the other get out of Iraq, etc.?
