WASHINGTON - The economic costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are estimated to total $1.6 trillion — roughly double the amount the White House has requested thus far, according to a new report by Democrats on Congress' Joint Economic Committee. ....The $1.6 trillion figure, for the period from 2002 to 2008, translates into a cost of $20,900 for a family of four, the report said. The Bush administration has requested $804 billion for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined, the report stated. ....

Mia said Hitler got high approval ratings, at the beginning probably, just like Bush.

When you said hidden war, I thought you meant Eastern Europe, you know the one on Clinton's watch that got swept under the rug because a democrat was in office - the one with double the deaths of Iraq but because it was on the 'wrong side of the border' they were listed as 'non combat losses'

You know, the war that Wes Cluck almost started WW3 in? Brags about the lowest combat losses of any UN commander - of course the combat losses are low when you don't consider ANYONE killed in the conflict to have done so in combat... Yeah, non combat death, that's what multiple 7.62 hits to the head means.

Say no to war - unless a democrat's in office...

Not to say that I'm bitter about that one... You'd think I had friends come back in coffins from that one and not even make the LOCAL news or something.

I just say that report on MSNBC. Pretty crazy number. I don't disagree or agree with it but the Democrats factored in things like interest that will be owed on the debt to China as well as rehab and long term medical care for the wounded troops, among other things.
Interesting study to say the least.

You see how harder and harder it gets for war supporters everyday to put two sentences together that make any sense?

What I find funny 'not really funny' maybe more like sad is that the terrorists by any logic have won and hit us harder by our financial impact, even more so that the tragic 9/11 attacks themselves.

All the while the inept are jumping up and down 'USA, USA' while not seeing the truth. The truth being that we ourselves are giving the terrorists a huge win day by day, costing us greatly at home and abroad.

But of course if you dare talk against how things are going you're a 'terrorist supporter'

Isn't that the truth. I think Al Qaeda setup the trap which is Iraq, even broadcast the message that they will bankrupt America and what does the idiot Bush do? He falls for it. And look at the decline in this country the last few years. A complete disaster! From inflation, to cost of gas and utilities and so many other things. Shame shame shame!
