I have recently launched my website and I'm looking to get established in the search engines.

Is it worth the 300 bucks to get listed in the Yahoo Directory?

    Thanks.

    Don't pay $300 for that
Just use that $300 on backlinking and adwords, adcenter, yahoo search marketing

$300 to me is a ripoff. Just because yahoo has a lot of users doesn't mean they'll all click a link in a directory.

No way - I'd spent the money at different programs as said by the previous responses.

There are free directory submission out there and have a good PR also. You can submit it manually without spending any dollars. That's only my opinion. The final decision is in yours.

According to me whenever u submit yr site in YDir at that time u will get more audience, after some period of time yr site will be moving down numbers by some recent submitted site. so if u use yr $300 wid another extra sources, it would be get better result for log period of time.

300 bucks is better spent on anything but yahoo directory. I did it and regretted it. You should instead aim for DMOZ, since you would get a ton of traffic from Google plus PR4 home page.

Yes...I'm #1 for two extremely important keywords in my niche on Yahoo's SERPs, and I'm attributing it to that. I also had no choice, because my 2 competitors were already up on the directory.

Yes it does. I have a 7 month old site that shot up 8 to 10 pages on very competitive keywords that i target, after a month and a half. So yes, it was well worth the $299.00 inclusion, if your serious about your business.
