Less pages on Google for a keyword search?

Have been monitoring the number of pages for a particular keyword - seems like a big drop in the number of pages.

For example, "French Property" - usually in the 100 million pages; currently 10.5 million.

Is this just a blip or is anybody else seeing the same for other keywords?

I see this all the time. Sometimes the terms I go for number in the 10's of millions, and other times its less than 10 million. What what i can tell, the numbers go up & up & up because of so many pages and sites. However, after Google sorts through them and gets rid of the copycats and junk material, the real number shows itself. At leats, that's my experience with Google.

Yes been happening for a while now, some keywords i rank #1 on have 150 million results one week and the next 12 million. My rank does not change, its like they are playing with 2 different relevence algos.

Question: Is there a tool that can tell me which Google page for a particular keyword my site appears under?

I did it manually today for one keyword and found my site on pg 33, but am thinking there must be a tool.

    ??

Well, I'm in web hosting industry and the same happened with "web hosting" related keywords. The number of searches has dropped.

Yep. I am seeing the same thing. The other day, I was #1 out of 20.4 million. Then, I checked again a day or so later, and the results bring up 6.1 million. Is Google de-indexing a bunch of websites or is it something else?

Exactly. My rank didn't change either...I am still #1. But the number of results has changed dramatically.

I can confirm the same thing
I monitor lots of niches for some time now
and the last few days there has been a drop of reported TOTAL results of a factor of 10 (1/10th of what they were before)

Duce I know you are quite new but, I advise you not to jump in someone's thread and open up you own discussion (its quite rude), either find an appropriate thread to post or start you own thread for your question

    as for you question: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/
