I read that if your CTR is low but you get a lot of visits it is ad placement. On my websites I have large banner ads displayed at the top header. So It doesn't really get any better for an ad placement. They are also in the threads after the first post and at the end. I am not sure what to do to increase my low CTR to a better percentage. I am not sure if forums cause low CTR no matter what or.....i don't really know. I have 3 websites all on the same adsense account. (Links in Sig as well) XtremeCarForum.com BYGforum.com TheGowForums.com
Hey just to let you know that it is against the AdSense ToS to tell people your CTR, you will get banned from AdSense for it, you are allowed to post your daily earnings etc. but not your CTR or eCPM.
When those site would belong to me, I would rather promote some ZIP/Email submits instead of AdSense. For example there is some Halo Zip submit currently at Copeac.com Affiliate Network (landing = ab.vcmedia.com/c/s=48180/c=115431/), when someone submits it's email address you get between $1 to $2.. then just make a banner like "get a free xbox (participation required)" and link it to such landing, I'm sure you will get some clicks and leads since it would be REALLY relevant in your Xbox forum
Forums are generally pretty bad on CTRs. People generally come to read threads and not click on links. You need lots and lots of traffic and good placement to make some money.
Yeah, Forum always low CTR, you don't worry about it. because forum has many old visitor who wouldn't click much times.
Blend in your advertisements. Make them have the same background of your forum's background. The placement is fine as is, just change the background and border to have the same as the forum's.
Its upto you how you through ads to your visitors. Returning visitors in a forum normally do not click on the ads. Put tow Large Rectangle ads under the navigation menu and make it available only for guests. It may increase your CTR.
i have forums and have tried all the placements... the best CTR comes with two 300 x 250 ads side by side right below the menu bar. blending has to be good and i would stay away from border colors that are different than the background color. Make the links the same color as other links on the page. I know I hate putting those big block ads right their but they do the best. The regular 728 x 90 do not do well for me at all. p.s. Abhik i did not even see your post until i did mine...lol you are exactly right
