There is no evidence for evolution and neither is there for creation other than the bible. Its funny how every subject is allowed to be debated in the class room except for evolution. Its a theory masquerading as fact. With all the adjustments to the different theories about how the world came about why don't scientists go back to the drawing board and come up with something better? Generally when one tenant of a hypothesises is wrong the whole idea is thrown out and a new one is put forward. Yet in evolution certain aspects have been disproved time and time again and all they do is modify the theory and start preaching it again.
The bible is far from evidence of creation, its just a book, written by so called mortal men by the influence of god, or perhapes another stimulant, who knows. If your using the bible as evidence then your throwing the basic idea of evidence out the window. The bible is not a smoking gun, the bible has not accurately predicted any events, yes some events might be similar in the bible to real time events, but if your vague enough as the bible you can find anything to mean what you said.
Nor has the bible tried to predict any events. The bible is meant to be read contextually and the reader should draw his or her own conclusions of what the text means. The bible is just as worthy to be evidence as your formulas or theories that aren't true. Note I haven't used the bible as a piece of evidence in this argument at all. I have used your own principles of science against you and I'm still waiting for a response to my post before this one. How can there be energy without matter?
Same concept with energy.. You can have energy without matter. The energy can be converted to mass/matter under certain conditions (E = mc squared) much like water can be converted into ice.
No, it's really not the same concept. Water turns to ice by a change in temperature. It changes from a liquid state of matter to a solid state of matter. Mass being created by energy is completely different because something is being created, a state isn't being changed. Wyla, explain to me how energy can be created with your equation of E = mc squared if there is no mass to begin with?
Energy isn't created, matter is. Energy creates matter, not matter creates energy (in this case). How about the way a battery works... Chemicals turn into electricity - two completely different things yet chemicals don't require electricity.
The equation has to work both ways Wyla. When you look at it in its original form, energy is dependent on matter. When you look at it in the form to calculate matter, matter is dependent on energy. It then becomes a viscous cycle with no beginning point. Do you understand what I'm saying? Something had to plant the seed of either a little bit of energy to create the mass or a little bit of mass to create the energy in order for your formula to work.
yup.. i see where your coming from. Now the question is... did is just exist? or did God plant it? the world may never know
Who said that ?-- you on my bus comrade ? Charles Darwin was a very keen observer -- natural selection does seem to be the answer in most cases but perhaps it was after all one of those card tricks , where a guy pushes a deck of cards at you , with the his desired card to a position where you be most likely to choose it --" pick a card any card " Science does seem to have a lot of this short sighted thinking in it . Sort of not open to criticize its own arguments ( in some cases)
That's what I've been trying to prove all along! It couldn't have just existed by your science. A divine power DID plant the seed, and a divine power IS responsible for where we are at today whether the human body is evolving or not.
Thats a pretty extreme correlation. How did the divine power come to be? If you answer "it just existed" then why can't energy "just exist" as well?
That's where faith and religion come into play. You have to believe that God always was, and always will be. It's impossible for us humans to fathom how God came to be, so I have no explanation to give you other than to believe. I worship my God because I have more faith in the evidence that the written and spoken word of God provide me than an equation that can be proven false. Explain please?
Ahh, thanks for that clarification. Also, energy can't "just exist" because science has already proven that it is dependent on matter.
Personifying creation/creator has to be the DUMBEST thing I've ever encountered - from an early age I thought EVERYONE around me (including my parents) were, well, let's just say I didn't think their antenna didn't got every station. An attitude that has not changed much in my 38 years. The closest I have come is settling on agnosticism for two reasons. 1) Fervently belieiving in made up bullshit explanations of the unknown is just ignorant. 2) Saying there is no such thing without proof is arrogant. WE DON'T KNOW - but as to the actual topic, I'm with Asimov on this one. "It is not so much that I believe scientists to be correct, as I believe non-scientists to be incorrect." Though M.C. Hawkings put it better: *** the damn creationists, those bunch of dumb-ass bitches, every time I think of them my trigger finger itches. They want to have their bullshit, taught in public class, Stephen J. Gould should put his foot right up their ass. Noah and his ark, Adam and his Eve, straight up fairy stories even children don't believe. I'm not saying there's no god, that's not for me to say, all I'm saying is the Earth was not made in a day. **** the damn creationists I say it with authority, because kicking their punk asses be me paramount priority. Them wack-ass bitches say, "evolution's just a theory", they best step off, them brainless fools, I'll give them cause to fear me. The cosmos is expanding every second, every day, but their minds are shrinking as they close their eyes and pray. They call their bullshit science like the word could give them cred, if them bitches be scientists then cap me in the head. Of course, if current studies are to be believed people with a faith in the supernatural over science and fact are just dopamine junkies... Literally. According to some scientists (I just read this in Newsweek at the doctors office) skeptics inherently have less dopamine production in the brain. ... and they call us surly.
^ I'm a non-surly skeptic. I think you were born screaming "Get the hell off my lawn, you damn kids!" : )
