W-8BEN form [please help, simple question, though not asked before (I searched!)]

    Hi,

Voxant told me that I had to fill in a W-8BEN form. Since I don't know allot about taxes, I searched the web for instructions. Though that only confused me more....

This video seems quite good: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/338741/how_to_fill_form_w_8ben/

Though on otherm sites they say that I have to fill in #10, and that I have to leave part IV: capacity in which acting empty.

Could someone please tell me how I need to fill in part II, III and IV correctly?

    Thanks in advance!

I Just faxed them a regular W-8 Tax form. I got my first payment from them for ~$200 a week or so ago. Im getting another $1200 at the end of this month from them.

Thanks for the reply, but could you please give me a link to that regular W-8 form? The most regular I can find on the IRS site is the W-8BEN form....

what is this form for? the payer have to hold 28% of payee payment amount to pay to IRS in case payee do not provide W-8 form.

when payee submit this form, the payer relase the 28% to payee (who is not resident) ? So If we send w-8 form, then we got 100% of payment with no tax? right?

I think there is no tax for people from outside US :)
But they must submit this to get paid from major payers.
I signed up for CJ and they told me to fill and send the same.
Yahoo hosting affiliate program also needs it. Important!!!

    You're right about that.

So if you're outside you shouldn't worry about taxes issue. Just sign up right taxes form. Good luck.

I had a partner of mine in Canada do this and it wasn't a big deal. Just act like you are giving them your autograph!

So guys - if you are a simple individual, you don't have to fill in any of the EIN/ SSIN, etc. just as showed in that video?

I've been wanting to send my form to azzogle ever since I got approved but I couldn't find any info on this.
