Hey all, I've recently been trying some traffic arbitrage methods where you buy cheap ppc traffic from 2nd tier search towards your adsense driven site. However, I've noticed that much of the traffic (from Goclick, findology, etc) is just trash. Anyone else have any positive experiences on creating good Adsense profits using traffic arbitrage? Also, does this relate to Costa Dede's Swapclix method by any chance? I've never read it, but curious if anyone else has seen whether it's good or not? Take it easy, Jay
In my experience, the "buy low/sell high" approach is a slow/uncertain/work-intensive method. Can it work? Yes. But you'll do better by simply creating good content, using good SEO, and working on promoting your site to get organic traffic. You may work harder in the beginning, but the long-term residual benefits will make it worthwhile.
YES it works, but.... It is hard work with a very low NET return. I've dabbled in it quite a bit and find it to be great as a SIDE project, since it really never produces enough money to retire off of.
There are interesting observation about brick and mortar businesses -- that 90% disapprear within the first five years, and of the survivors 90% die in the next five years, and so on. I suspect the death rate for web businesses will likely be greater because they are not designed as a proper business from the onset. And people vastly underestimate how much time and effort it takes to have a real business. Over the long run, buying traffic is not going to be any more useful on a website than in a shoe store. If that is the only way to get people coming by, then you need to re-evaluate what the website is all about and why it fails to build and retain an audience.
While I agree with most of what you said I disagree with the death rate of websites. Sure there are lots of people that think it's easy and fast cash to start a website... they'll soon give up on the whole thing. Those that do persevere and get a site up and running are bound to last much longer than a brick-and-mortar counterpart. The thing is that it's extremely cheap to run a website... so even if the site brings in only a few dollars, it will still be worth it to keep it running. So I'd say that if a site makes it through it's first year, then it's bound to survive for many more.
Arbitrage is definitely takes some intensive research...I've found a few markets that work quite well for me with second tier ppc engines. I've found that the traffic from MIVA and GoClick just wasn't good enough to carry on with either of them...MIVA was the least successful. I've only been trying this out over the past few months...but I've seen at least a 200% return on my money so far. The problem with telling a bunch of people about how you go about arbitrage, is that I think it's a very narrow field...Too many competitors doing the same thing will definitely hurt me. So for now...I'm staying quite on specifics. Allen
same here. Tried a bunch of different ways and never really turned a profit. Im sure there is a way, but I was over it and moved on other things.
lots of the 2nd and 3rd tier PPC engines have affiliate programs. Affiliates get paid to click ads. I do not really trust affiliate program methods of checking for valid clicks, personally.
It certainly wouldnt be the easiest way to get traffic to your site. The ammount of time you spend researching keywords, finding low clicks, then matching them with your site. You could be driving some quality traffic to your site with SEO. Except you would be building long term traffic that doesnt technically cost you "money". Brad
A new reply to an old post I have just come across product called google payload. The author claims to be making about $300,000 a month using traffic arbitrage. I am not one to dismiss things out of hand without investigating them first. Has any one else come across this or applied it's methods? Thank you Niche
I don't know why everyone is talking about a low payout for arbitrage. It pays out quite well. The only thing is, you can't do it with one site. You need to have a system of mass generation and promotion available, so you can manage many sites at once. If you're interested in the kind of automation I'm talking about, I have an article describing the basic setup(although it's geared more towards Cloaking/Scraping sites) right here: Automating Your SEO System
How can traffic be trash if they are clicking on the ad or link that goes to the site? If they click on it, aren't they interested, no matter where they came from???
It works but it involves much more than just putting up sites and sending adwords traffic to it. You have to keep a constant eye on all the sites etc....
